Nudestix Magnetic Eye Color Pencils

Nudestix Magnetic Eye Color

Eyeshadow sticks and crayons have been very popular lately. Most makeup brands have released their own version of eye crayons. Some are being marketed as kajal sticks while others are sold as eyeshadow crayons.

I was kindly sent a Christmas Hamper by Urban Outfitters which included this *Nudestix  Love #GiltyNight eye color pencil set | $35 along with other goodies.

I am so glad I got to try out these pencils as this has become my favourite so easily. These came in a colourful modern art sleek tin box with a good quality mirror on the inside of the lid. The set comes with a sharpener which is a plus for me as finding a perfect sharpener for a crayon is also a hassle sometimes. This sharpener can also be used with your other crayon lip or eye products ūüôā

These are very creamy, pigmented and very long lasting. These glide like a dream and once applied, the pencils set within seconds.

Night is a darkest black shade that looks beautiful and is as dark as Night. I like to apply this in my waterline as the black shade defines my eyes so well. This shade also makes my lashes look fuller (if applied to upper lash line).

Gilt is a champagne gold shade and looks beautiful in inner corner of the eyes. These can also be applied as base for eyeshadow. I do not wear these on its own as an eyeshadow as these set very quickly and it may get difficult to blend edges. The shade Gilt is similar to Laura Mercier caviar stick eye colour in Rose Gold.

Nudestix Magnetic Eye Color

Overall, I am really happy with the set and will purchase these once I run out. I would also pick up other shades from Nudestix.

These are also available separately if you like to buy just a single shade and are also available in the UK at around £24 each price mark.

The products marked with asterisk * were either sent to me as gift or for PR purposes. My opinions are however genuine and unbiased.

Until next time…

Sachajuan | Professional Haircare with Immediate Results!!!

Sachajuan - professional haircare

If you follow me on Instagram (here), you probably are aware of addition of Sachajuan products to my haircare routine. I have been trying the Scalp Shampoo, Moisturizing Shampoo and Moisturizing Conditioner for quite a few weeks now and I can confidently say I am in love with these products.

Sachajuan is a cult hair salon in Stockholm and its products are known for beautiful and immediate results. The packaging is simple¬†and classic (no frills) that looks chic as well as professional. Well, that’s what we want, don’t we? As a consumer, I would like to pay for the product that’s inside the bottle and not for the posh packaging! Another plus point is the bottles are not very long so it fits inside my chest of drawers :). Definitely full points on packaging!!!

Sachajuan Scalp Shampoo

  • *Scalp Shampoo | ¬£18 for 250ml

I color my hair and use many styling products like hair sprays, oils etc to my hair. There is often product build up on the scalp which we do not realize. When the weather changes, our scalp often gets flaky and itchy specially in winter (Nothing to shame about!  If you live in country with really cold and dry weather, you would relate.).

Trust me, I was on the same boat with hair problems like itchy and flaky scalp until I tried this shampoo. This shampoo works expeditiously to clear the scalp while maintaining moisture balance of the hair as well as scalp. This shampoo gives satisfying lather and unlike many medicated shampoos, it does not smell funny!

Best way to use: Massage well to the wet scalp and hair and leave it for about 2 minutes for the shampoo to work. Rinse well and Tadaa!!! You’ll have nice clean scalp and hair.

If your scalp is flaky and itchy, get this scalp shampoo from Sachajuan and say Bye Bye to these problems. I promise, you’ll love it!

Sachajuan Moisturizing shampoo

  • *Moisturizing Shampoo | ¬£20 for 250ml

If your hair are dry, colored or treated, this shampoo is for you! This is an intensely moisturizing shampoo that works immediately on dry, dull and lifeless hair. This shampoo contains Ocean Silk Technology and Argan oil to provide optimal moisture leaving the hair healthy, manageable and frizz-free.  Your hair will instantly feel and look softer and smoother.

Best way to use: Massage a small amount to wet hair and leave it for a minute. Rinse well and you will be left with soft, smooth and clean hair.

Sachajuan moisturizing conditioner

  • *Moisturizing Conditioner | ¬£22 for 250ml

No matter what shampoo I use, I follow that with the Moisturizing Conditioner. This is a magic solution in a bottle that will amaze you with the results. This conditioner has become my Holy grail now and I bet if you try it will become your favorite too.

This is an intensive conditioning treatment for dry and damaged hair. This conditioner extremely nourishes the hair with Ocean Silk Technology  and softens hair to repair damage from heat and styling products. This conditioner has Argan oil that provides optimum moisture to the hair. This conditioner also gives frizz-free hair.

Best way to use: Massage well to clean damp hair and leave in for 2-3 minutes. Rinse well. You will be left with soft, shiny, frizz-free and healthy looking hair (Period).

I alternate between Scalp and Moisturizing shampoo. So, if I use scalp shampoo today, i would use moisturizing shampoo next time (like in 3 days or 4 days depending upon my hair requirements). The conditioner always has to be Sachajuan Moisturizing Conditioner for obvious reasons.

Sachajuan products can be purchased via Cult Beauty, Beauty Bay, Net-a-Porter, Lookfantastic, The Grooming Clinic, Sukha London, Kings of Clerkenwell, Fabled Beauty By Marie Claire, Panache Cosmetics London and Beast.

The products marked with asterisk * were either sent to me as gift or for PR purposes. My opinions are however genuine and unbiased.

Until next time…

Annual Beauty edit | Best of 2016

Best of Beauty 2016

It is the time of the month when I usually share my beauty faves for last month but this month I am going to do a Beauty roundup for 2016 and share my most loved products last year. This post doesn’t share any new launches of 2016 but will tell you the products I enjoyed using most.

So, without further ado, let’s jump straight into it ūüôā

Skincare

Exfoliating Toner: Pixi Glow Tonic without doubt stands above any toners I have. This is a game changer in my skincare. This has helped me get rid of congested skin on a regular basis. If you follow me on Instagram (¬†here¬†), you already know my love for this toner. Highly recommend introducing this to your skincare, if you haven’t already!

Moisturiser: I have been wanting to try Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel for the longest time and finally bought this in the last month of the year. I am so glad I did because I haven’t stopped using this since then. I use this as my morning as well as evening moisturiser. It is not sticky and gets absorbed quickly so It is ideal as a morning moisturiser. It doesnot let your makeup slide but keeps you looking well hydrated. This moisturiser has to be one of my key discoveries of 2016.

Face Oil: Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse has been my most used facial oil last year. It is a multipurpose dry oil and is not sticky or heavy so it can easily be used on combination to oily skin. I keep a travel size bottle of this oil in my handbag so you can imagine my love for this oil is intense :).

MakeUp

Primer: Becca Backlight priming filter has been my most loved primer this year. I love that for dewy naturally-lit, glow from within kind of filter effect on my skin. This primer is so good to fake that healthy glow. It even transforms the look of a flat matte foundation.

Base: Honestly, I prefer tinted moisturisers, bb cream or cc cream over any foundation. I discovered the cult favourite Bourjois Paris 123 Perfect cc cream last year and its been my favourite ever since. This colour collects and gives me perfect coverage along with keeping my skin well hydrated. Its a perfect glowy base I tried in 2016 and is budget friendly too.

Concealers: I wanted to pick just one but I couldn’t. Maybelline Instant Age rewind concealer and Urban Decay Naked skin weightless concealer¬†have been my go-to concealers last year. Maybelline one is perfect as a highlighting concealer and I have been using UD Naked skin weightless concealer to conceal any pigmentation. I just want UD comes with more warm tone shades so I can buy one for highlighting too. These concealers do not crease if set with powder. I usually use Hourglass setting powder or Makeup forever HD powder to set my concealers.

Eyeshadows: Colourpop super shock eyeshadow in Sequin is the most gorgeous shimmery pink shadow I discovered in 2016. *Vincent Longo pearl x eyeshadows have been a winner for creating a full eye look with just one eyeshadow pan. Etherea has been my most loved eyeshadow but I was recently gifted Luna Beach too which creates a beautiful purple-teal look. I was surprised how beautifully it transferred on my eyes and glammed me up in just few seconds. Trust me, you dont even need a brush..use your fingers and create a most beautiful sultry smokey eye with these eyeshadows. Highly highly recommend these gorgeous babies. I have also been enjoying Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon eyeshadow stick in Gold Digger. Its a beautiful metallic khaki shade and looks gorgeous on most eyes. This has been my go-to product for lining my eyes or using as a smudged liner. It sets quickly and stays until you remove it so definitely a plus.

Eyeliner:¬†*Vincent Longo creme/gel eye liner in Golden Orbit was my new love in 2016. As its a gorgeous warm golden shade, it will always be my favourite and that’s beacause Golden shades look stunning on medium and dark skintones. I have Indian ethnicity and its all about gold on most special occasions. This liner sets in seconds so you need to work with this quickly. This is very long lasting so it will not budge even if you have oily eye-lids. Kat Von D Tattoo eyeliner in Trooper has been my another loved product last year. It is jet black and has a brush instead of nib so it is easier to draw a cat-eye flick with this than any liquid liner with nib.

Mascara: Same old same old Maybelline Lash sensational mascara without any surprises!

Lipsticks: Charlotte Tilbury matte revolution lipstick in Bond Girl has been one of my loved purchases of 2016. I do not have any shade like this in my collection and I have noticed I reach for this lipstick quite often than any other lipstick in my collection. Its in between medium and dark lipsticks. Its difficult to describe the shade exactly but I have seen this shade has been one of the best seller from her matte revolution range. My love for Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte lipsticks is well known to my regular readers. The main reason is the comfortable long lasting matte formula that does not wear off immediately after eating oily food. The wear off is gradual and less noticeable with this and this is the reason I chose this for one of the events where i DIDNOT touch up my makeup all night and this lipstick looked amazing¬†in all my photos. Everything Nice and Immortal are my fave shades from this range.¬†Colourpop matte liquid lipstick in Bumble has been my another favourite primarily because of the muted red shade. This lipsticks wear off quickly and can make your lips dry after a while so bear in mind you prep your lips beforehand. But honestly we can’t complain much because these are super affordable.

Face Palettes: Becca Champagne Glow Face Palette (sold out but the blushes and highlighters are back in splits) and Hourglass Ambient Light РSurreal Lighting edit have been my favourite palettes of 2016. Hourglass one is definitely for soft finish while Becca is for days I need to shine :). Becca blushes and highlighters are super pigmented and you need to have a light hand with these. Hourglass powders are for soft focus finish with a soft blushes. Bronzer doesnot show up on my medium skin but i try to mix it with my blusher to make use of it.

These were my ultimate favourite products of 2016. I have some more exciting posts coming up so keep an eye on this space and follow me on Instagram too <3

Until next time…

Winter Blush edit

Winter Blushes edit

Winters bring the naturally flushed or just pinched cheeks and if you don’t get that natural blush on your face, blushers are the way to go! Today I am sharing my top picks for winter blushes ūüôā

I don’t have many cream blushers in my collection but whenever I like to go for dewy makeup look, I reach for Illamasqua cream blushers. The pigmentation is great, the colour range is nice and they last all day. The best thing about these blushes is they don’t highlight problem areas and works for all skin types even the acne prone ones. A little goes a very long way so you don’t need much.

Seduce is a deep vintage rose shade that looks amazing on all skin tones. It is such a beautiful shade between pink and mauve toned blushes which I think I will be reaching for frequently all autumn and winter. Do check out Illamasqua blushes, they are great investment!

Surreal Effect is a part of Hourglass Ambient Light edit – Surreal light Holiday Collection 2016 palette. It is a cool, pink rose fused with a soft, warm peach for a pop of flattering color. These are very finely milled and looks gorgeous on most skin tones. It shows up beautifully on my medium skin. I have done full review here.

Between the Sheets which is a beautiful cool toned soft pink toned blush that provides natural flush of colour to the cheeks. I look forward to wearing this blush often in colder months. This blush is matte finish without any sheen.

The longevity of colourpop blushes is also good so you need not worry about fading these from your cheeks. The best way to apply these is to use your fingers instead of brush.

Autumn Winter blushes

Rose Paradis is a beautiful ultra finely milled blush that looks fierce and bold in the pan but it transfers beautifully on skin. These blushes are very pigmented so you need just a little dab with your stippling brush and it will give you most beautiful rosy finish to your skin. These are long lasting formula so you need not worry about touching up your blush. Highly recommend checking these out.

Pleasure Model was originally released as a limited edition extra dimension blush. Mac brought this blush back in a compact which was a part of Nutcracker Sweet Copper face compact later in 2016. It is a terracotta /copper-y orange shade blush with satin finish. This blush lasts upto 6 hours and looks beautiful on all round the year. I really like to wear terracotta blushes when I have my tan boots on brown leather jacket :). You can check complete review here.

Sleek does the most amazing blushers in drugstore. The pigmentation is great and these are very affordable but long lasting. I have only tried powder blushes and trust me this is the only brand for which I have most blushes from! Sleek blushes are often compared to Nars blushes for quality and shades but sleek ones are so affordable.

Pomegranate is a beautiful golden berry shade ideal for medium to dark skin tones and offers a subtle highlighting shimmer. This looks amazing on skin and lifts up entire makeup look.

Flushed is another deep toned blush more on plum and berry side and looks amazing on medium to dark skin tones. This has matte finish so if you have imperfections on your skin, this will not make them look stand out.

Sahara is sandy orangey brown, ideal for medium to dark skin tones and offers a matte finish.

Autumn Winter blushes

Amaretto blush first appeared in limited edition champagne glow collection by Becca which quickly went out of stock. This blush was most talked about in that collection along with the gold highlighter Prosecco Pop ofcourse. Both products were brought back in the form of splits. Amaretto is a dusty rose blush with a hint of terracotta in it. It looks beautiful all year round and warms up the face with just one swipe. The blush is intensely pigmented and has good lasting power.

Infatuation is true terracotta with matte finish. This looks amazing on medium skin tones. These are finely milled blushes that has buttery texture and looks flawless on skin. This blush glides exquisitely onto the skin delivering long-lasting pigmentation. The formula is fade-free that ensures long lasting pigmentation. Makeup Geek blushes are talc free so they are suitable for sensitive skin.

Winter blushes

Water Canvas Blush is infused with 75% ‚ÄėMicrowater‚Äô, resulting in a moisturising and refreshing formula that works intuitively to target dehydrated, flaky patches and thirsty cells with precious water.
Swan Lake is a beautiful cool toned pale pink blush that is very pigmented and looks amazing on skin tone. The lasting power is pretty good and it does not cling to any dry patches.¬†The blush is weightless and easy to blend, applies and diffuses seamlessly for the most realistic finish that creates a fresh, youthful ‚Äėbloom‚Äô. Highly recommend checking their blushes.

Sweet November | Monthly Faves

Monthly Faves

As most of you already know, I am back from India and ofcourse back to my blogging routine! November has been hectic as there was lots of shopping before I flew to India and there was no time to do much on blogging side. So, here I am sharing my faves for last month.

My love for Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte liquid lipsticks is well documented. After enjoying shades Everything Nice and 1995 for good few months, I thought of trying a red shade from this range. Immortal is perfect true red for me and looks amazing on all skin tones. The pigmentation and longevity are amazing. Unlike other liquid lipsticks, this one is not overly drying. The formula is very light weight and does not feel uncomfortable on lips. Highly recommends checking this out.

When you look at this eyeshadow, I am sure you’ll be wowed! This is something I haven’t seen before. A beautiful art mix of multiple gorgeous shades in one pan! Vincent Longo describes this as a sophisticated, multi-textured eye shadow delivers shades of matte and shimmer that effortlessly blend and shift as you apply.

If you’re a fan of soft focus dewy finish makeup, Becca Cosmetics Backlight priming filter can be your best friend.

Its ultra-subtle, ‚Äėsoft focus‚Äô pigments blur the visibility of imperfections and diffuses light to lend skin a flawless, lit-from-within look ‚Äď (and who doesn‚Äôt want that?). With a featherweight texture, this melts into skin ‚Äď blending seamlessly to create an enviably smooth and dewy canvas ‚Äď while antioxidant vitamin E and tightening liquorice extract combine to brighten, firm and ward against free radical-attack. This is essentially a photographic filter in a bottle.

This lightweight fluid foundation is meant to provide buildable coverage with¬†seamless application. Capture the glow of perfect looking skin with Luminous silk foundation, an oil-free hydrating fluid with exclusive Micro-fil‚ĄĘ technology. Its lightweight and silky texture glides on seamlessly for an all-day, buildable coverage.¬†GA Luminous Silk foundation looks gorgeous on skin and is literally undetectable if you have found your perfect shade.

Ever since I saw the Makeup Geek x Manny MUA palette and Natasha Denona Star eyeshadow palette, I wanted to try the mermaid teal brown shade. However, buying expensive palette for just one shade is not ideal. So, looking for an alternative was the only option and I am so glad I got my hands on the loose pigment called ‘Insomnia’ by Makeup Geek. This is a stunning teal brown shade that looks sultry on eyes.

Grenadines is a beautiful velvet-matte eyeshadow in a deep berry shade that looks amazing on all skintones. It can be applied lightly for a sheer look or can be packed on for a more dramatic look. It looks stunning either ways. This eyeshadow is richly pigmented micronized powder. It is long wearing & crease resistant. It glides on effortlessly & is easy to blend. Such a perfect shade for colder months!

Sequin¬†is a metallic finish pink-copper toned eyeshadow with silver and gold glitter. This is sooooo stunning, i tell you! I get asked about this shade whenever I post swatches or talk about this on my instastories or snapchat. I like to pair this up with H&M eye pencil in Grand Cru ūüôā This is not a limited edition eyeshadow so you can easily get your hands on it.

A deep pore cleansing mud that gently exfoliates while purifying for radiant skin. This active yet gentle cleanser with 5% glycolic acid exfoliates to reveal a glowing, healthier-looking skintone. Mud deep cleans & detoxifies pores while hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, and avocado oil plump & nourish the skin. Leaves complexion feeling smooth & purified. This cleanser has quickly become my favourite because it always makes me look fresh and clean without drying my face. This is an absolute must have product!

Swatches of Gerard Cosmetics Immortal, COlourpop sequin, Makeup geek Insomnia, Vincent Longo cosmetics Etherea

These were the products I enjoyed using while I was away to India last month.

*Pearl x Eyeshadow | Etherea | £19

When you look at this eyeshadow, I am sure you’ll be wowed! This is something I haven’t seen before. A beautiful art mix of multiple gorgeous shades in one pan! Vincent Longo describes this as a sophisticated, multi-textured eye shadow delivers shades of matte and shimmer that effortlessly blend and shift as you apply.

*Creme Gel eyeliner | Golden Orbit | £19

This eyeliner is formulated with gel technology that makes it whipped, weightless and creamy. It is very intense in terms of pigmentation and is budge-proof. It lasts all day without smudging even a little. This eyeliner doubles as eyeshadow but you need to work really quickly as these set within a minute. Once set, it can feel slightly hard like a paint but honestly you will not find anything as long lasting as this. Make sure you don’t put this on your lashes or it will become stiff as the liner dries (lol i did on couple of my lashes accidentally). The pot is tiny but you need very little so this will last you quite a long time.
The shade Golden orbit is rich true gold shade and looks beautiful on all skintones. This is very festive liner and amps up the whole look. This definitely has to be in your Christmas wishlist! Its AMAZING (period!).
P.S. You can use this for temporary waterproof tattoos too.. You can imaging how amazing Gold tattoos look specially during the festive period.

*Lip and Cheek Gel Stain | Liquid Kiss | £18.50

Lip and Cheek Gel stain is the ultimate solution for those who like their make up multi-purpose and low-maintenance. Vincent Longo‚Äôs versatile tint grants a sheer long-wear stain for just-bitten lips or a fresh, dewy flush. Easy to blend and buildable, these stains are available in 3 shades –¬†‚ÄėBaby Boo‚Äô (rose pink), ‚ÄėMy Sunshine‚Äô (dusty coral) and ‚ÄėLiquid Kiss‚Äô (a sexy, soft red).
Liquid Kiss applies as a see through sexy red tint on swatch while it applies almost as deep red on my pigmented lips. I am not a lip tint person mainly because of hyperpigmentation and dual toned lips but this offering from Vincent Longo left me to surprise. The shade is amazing and hides the problem area making it look sexy. As this gel stain doubles up as cheek tint, I prefer carrying it for topups during the day even though its longevity is good.

*Water Canvas Creme-to-powder foundation | Warm Beige #6 | £43.50

¬†This foundation has amazing creme to powder formulation that is very unique because it is¬†enriched with their signature ‚ÄėMicrowater‚Äô (an intuitive complex, brimming with seaweed extracts to seek out dehydrated patches and restore precious moisture), which provides continuous hydration and ensures a flawless finish.
¬†This has very light to buildable medium coverage that looks natural and¬†has no risk of product settling, caking or migrating. This is not greasy by any means and is ideal for oily skin tones who want to have even skintone but doesnot want heavy layers of foundation. This is ultra light weight and you won’t feel you’re wearing a foundation. The range of shades adapts to variety of skintones.
The shade Warm Beige works perfect for my skin tone. This is slightly more yellow and a bit olive for me but when its on the skin, it blends beautifully. This is oil, fragrance and Paraben-free product. Due to the formulation of this product, the lid should be kept tightly closed when not in use to avoid evaporation of this foundation. However, due to its very light though buildable coverage, you’ll like it only if you prefer no makeup makeup look. If you need coverage, you can skin this.

*Water Canvas Creme-to-Powder Blush | Swan Lake | £33.50

The most natural-looking flush you‚Äôll find, Vincent Longo‚Äôs stunning Water Canvas Blush is rich in the brand‚Äôs ‚ÄėMicrowater‚Äô, which identifies dry patches to hydrate and soothe while the cr√®me-to-powder formula grants a beautiful, velvety-textured ‚Äėpop‚Äô of pigment. The secret to ‚Äėlit from within‚Äô, pinched-your-cheeks prettiness.
Water Canvas Blush is infused with 75% ‚ÄėMicrowater‚Äô, resulting in a moisturising and refreshing formula that works intuitively to target dehydrated, flaky patches and thirsty cells with precious water.
Swan Lake is a beautiful cool toned pale pink blush that is very pigmented and looks amazing on skintone. The lasting power is pretty good and it does not cling to any dry patches.¬†The blush is weightless and easy to blend, applies and diffuses seamlessly for the most realistic finish that creates a fresh, youthful ‚Äėbloom‚Äô. Highly recommend checking their blushes.
Achieve an ethereal, ‘candlelit’ finish with Vincent Longo’s exquisite La Bella Luce highlighting powder (it translates as ‘beautiful light’ in Italian). A thing of beauty – the marbled pan is mesmerising – this also makes it easy to achieve a multi-faceted glow. Just swirl your brush over the powder to pick up the spectrum of illuminating shades, or use a fine-tipped brush to select one colour and accentuate your cupid’s bow or inner corners of each eye.
The simplest way to create the illusion of ‘cut glass’ cheekbones, Vincent Longo’s La Bella Luce Highlighter boasts a kaleidoscope of understated hues for highlighting your most important features. Incredibly finely milled, this powder is so smooth it’s almost creamy – applying and diffusing seamlessly to grant skin a believable, beautiful gleam. Available in two, multi-tonal shades, choose from ‘Flora’ (pearlescent pink), or ‘Patina’ (soft golden bronze), and apply anywhere that the light would most naturally strike – brow bones, bridge of the nose and exposed collar bones.
La Bella Luce highlighters by Vincent Longo
These highlighters are incredibly beautiful and both Patina and Flora looks amazing on all skintones. The powders are extremely soft (just like Mary lou manizer by The Balm Cosmetics) so you have to be cautious with these specially while travelling. Patina smashed in my bag and honestly my heart is broken. These marble highlighters are stunning and will quickly secure a place in your top favourite glow getters.

Lip Monthly Subscription Bag + Discount code

Lip Monthly Subscription

Monthly subscription service (makeup/skincare/magazine/jewellery) has been popular for a while now and we all get excited when each month our package arrives…Don’t we? Today, I am sharing my experience with Lip Monthly which is a monthly subscription service for lip lovers.

Each month they send out 4-5 Full sized¬†(yes only full size!) lip products in their monthly bags from high quality brands around the world. The best and unique part of this subscription service is they have started providing customized service where you will have your own account page and you can choose shades for your products each month…How cool is that!!! I know many monthly subscription companies send out same products to everyone and the shades may not be complementary to your skin tone. So, being able to choose the right shades for your requirement and getting Full Size products each month is what makes this company stand out from the crowd. No wonder, they were featured in BuzzFeed, Mashable, The Washington Post, TIME and USA Today.

They do ship Internationally¬†so even if you are not in the USA, you can subscribe to this service to try products from all over the world. Starting November, they will be having free shipping in the United States of America¬†and charging only $2.99 for shipping to the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and Spain. You’re not bound in any contract so this service gives you an option of cancelling anytime which is a plus.

I was kindly sent this *Lip Monthly subscription bag which contained 4 full size lip products – Cargo Cosmetics Essential lip gloss – ‘Sahara’, Hikari Lipstick – ‘Romance’, Be a Bombshell lipstick – ‘Charmed’ and Laritzy lip liner – ‘Deep Orchid’. The bag is a small zip pouch with a leaf print and Lip Monthly logo. It is a good quality pouch which can even be used as an essential travel makeup bag or coin purse :).

  • Cargo Cosmetics Essential Lip gloss – Sahara | $16

Cargo Cosmetics is a high quality makeup brand from the USA. I am not a lip gloss person but this is such a stunning neutral shimmery gloss which makes your lips look slightly fuller. Even if you don’t like to use lip gloss all over your lips, you can apply it in just center of your bottom lip to give it¬†more plump look. I think one definitely should have atleast a neutral multi-purpose gloss in their collection. This one is long lasting and can be a great topper for your matte lipsticks. I am impressed with this gloss.

  • Hikari Cosmetics lipstick – Romance | $13

Romance is a long lasting nude lipstick by Hikari Cosmetics. This is very comfortable to wear and is a peachy nude for me. Who doesn’t love a neutral nude shade of lipstick in their collection? This comfortable¬†formula makes it easy to wear and will complement most light skin tones.

I like to apply this with my terracotta liner as a base just because i have pigmented lips otherwise this is a beautiful shade. But the customization service gives you the power to choose your own shades so you get most value out of the service.

  • Laritzy lip pencil – Deep Orchid | $18

This is one of those shades that complement any skin tone. I am so glad to receive the shade Deep Orchid as it works perfectly with Mac Flat out Fabulous lipstick I have in my collection. This shade makes your face look brighter and i am so happy to have this now.

These incredibly creamy and pigmented lip pencils are infused with plant oils and waxes to moisturize and protect your lips all day. Wear it alone or under lipstick or lip gloss!

These are cruelty free, paraben free, enriched with powerful plant and fruit extracts, made in USA and are gluten free.

  • Be a Bombshell lipstick – Charmed | $6

These lipstick is very creamy and has smooth finish. The shade Charmed is a warm toned brown /toast shade which looks absolutely stunning for Fall/Autumn. However, I am not a brown lipstick lover but if you are, this is a good choice.

[Top to Bottom: Cargo Cosmetics – Sahara, Hikari Cosmetics – Romance, Be a Bombshell cosmetics – Charmed, Laritzy – Deep Orchid]

The overall cost of the products inside is over $50 plus you are get a nice quality zip pouch as well which makes it such a steal!

Now the exciting part, you can join at Lipmonthly.com and use my coupon code TANTRUM that will give you 55% off your first bag.

Mac Nutcracker Sweet Copper Face Compact | Holiday 2016 Collection

Mac Nutcracker Sweet Copper Face compactIts been a long time since a face palette made me go weak in the knees. Photos of Mac Nutcracker Sweet Holiday collection took the social media by storm mainly because this collection had fabulous packaging and they brought back their best seller (and quickly sold out)  limited edition Whisper of Gilt highlighter in the form of one of the face compacts in Copper Sweet Face Compact (sold out online but available at Mac counters). The other option in face compact is Sweet Peach Face compact which has Tutu ( pale white peach) highlighter and At Dusk (warm rose) blush. I decided to try out the Copper one because I really wanted to get my hands on Whisper of Gilt.

If you’re medium skin tone, buying both the compacts would be worth as these retail only for ¬£29 each. For that price you get a blush and a highlighter. Totally a value compact specially for such high quality and from a reputed brand. Still need more justification..no worries, I am going to help :).

Packaging: Packaging is absolutely eye catching as it has an embossed embroidery pattern. The outer packaging has Fuchsia and burgundy stripes making the entire collection stand out.

Mac Nutcracker Sweet Copper Face compact

Shades:  The compact contains a Pleasure Model blush and Whisper of Gilt highlighter. Pleasure Model is a terracotta /copper-y orange shade blush with satin finish. Whisper of Gilt is a beautiful light gold highlighter with metallic finish similar to Kiko Water eyeshadow in 208 Light gold.

Pigmentation: Both blush and highlighter powders are intensely pigmented. The blush can be easy to control and can be worn sheerer. The highlighter is very smooth to apply and is not powdery. Its very finely milled and is very soft and buttery to touch.

Longevity: The Extra Dimension Skinfinishes are supposed to have 9-10 hour wear, while the Extra Dimension Blush formula is supposed to have 5-6 hour wear. Both powders stayed on my skin for over 8 hours which is amazing.

Swatches of Mac Nutcracker Sweet Copper face compact

Overall thoughts: Both shades make a perfect combination for my medium skin tone. You are getting  fabulous best selling products combo at just under £30 which in my opinion is a steal! Definitely worth checking this out.

Until next time…

Ash xoxo

Autumn Winter Glow Getters

Autumn Winter glow getters

Summer is over but you still can fake that sun-kissed glow in colder months. I am going to share my top picks for achieving healthy looking skin specially for the Christmas.

Pixi Glow Tonic | £18

Beautiful makeup starts with healthy skin. You need to have well exfoliated skin to achieve a flawless glow-y base. Regular readers know I trust my Pixi Glow Tonic for getting the perfect exfoliated base. This is an alcohol-free exfoliating facial glow tonic for all skin types. It helps tone, firm and tighten the skin. It removes dead skin cells for healthier looking skin. It is very gentle so it can be used daily. However, I do like to rotate my skincare products as you might have seen on my Instagram (here). I am on my second bottle now and really like this stuff!

Clean & Clear Blackhead clearing cleanser | £4

Clean & Clear blackhead clearing cleanser is another option for getting that smooth blackhead/dead skin-free skin in just one swipe but this is quite strong. I would say try sniffing this in store before purchasing as this may not be for everybody. The alcohol/chemical smell is very overpowering in this but if you don’t mind that, I¬†recommend checking this out.

Becca Backlight priming filter | £32

If you are after that lit-from-within kind of glow, look no further! This primer by Becca Cosmetics is a game changer. This primer creates a diffused, soft-focused radiance that blurs imperfections and allows your complexion to catch light in the most gorgeous way. I like to team this up with cc cream or foundation and it just makes my base look dewy and healthy. This is a quite pricey product for a primer but Loreal Paris Lumi Magique primer from drugstore is a great alternative.

Soap & Glory Hocus Focus Illuminator | £11

This offering by Soap & Glory is also brilliant to make the skin glow. This is a good dupe for Mac Strobe cream. If you don’t go overboard with this, you will get that soft diffused glow on your skin if worn under foundation or tinted moisturiser. This is also a very good option for mixing with foundation to sheer it out a bit and add glow pigments.

Giorgio Armani Luminous silk foundation | £37

This foundation is my new found love mainly because the shade 6 is olive toned and is close to my skin tone (a tad bit darker but works well). This weightless foundation has medium to buildable coverage and gives a beautiful silky satin finish. This foundation gives a dewy finish if worn with any of the primers/illuminators mentioned above. This is SPF-free so there won’t be flash backs during night photography.

Bourjois 123 perfect cc cream | £9.99

This is such a great coverage cc cream. I do not need to use any concealer when I wear this base. Its 3 colour correcting pigments give a fresh and luminous result with SPF 15 and 24hr hydration.

  • Apricot for anti-fatigue
  • Green for anti-redness
  • White for anti-dark spots

It is very light weight and glides onto skin smoothly. I prefer this on day to day basis and it gives a dewy healthy finish to my skin which I absolutely love. I bought the shade Beige Clair from store and this is a tad bit light on me but it blends and looks gorgeous without being ashy. I highly recommend checking this out.

Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar kit highlighter | £49

My love for Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow kit highlighter is no brainer! I have been raving about the highlight side of the kit since the very first time I used it. It gives me just stunning glow without being over powering. The powder is very finely milled so you do not see any shimmer.¬†The highlighter is built up from a golden base that flatters any skin tone, and uses Light Flex Technology to capture light and radiate it out for a luminous complexion. I just wish the bronzer was slightly more pigmented as it doesn’t show up much on my medium skintone.

Hourglass Surreal Strobe Light palette | £69 | Post

The surreal light setting powder gives me a soft focus lit from within look without looking cakey. I use this all over my face to set my foundation and to give my skin a diffused look. Surreal Strobe Light highlighter looks so pretty on all skin tones. It is not BAM in you eyes kind of highlighter but still looks very sophisticated and glowy.

Makeup Revolution Radiance Palette | £8 | Post

The idea is similar to Hourglass Ambient lights palette where we have finely milled diffused¬†illuminators which creates an illusion that you are glowing from within. You can imaging how your highlight¬†will look when seen in diffused soft focus light, that‚Äôs the way these illuminators work. This palette has¬†three different shades ‚Äď Breathe (Neutral Beige), Exhale(Cool toned cream shade) and Glow ( Warm toned gold shade) . This palette was featured in my top 10 drugstore highlighters. The powders are finely milled and this palette is such a steal for good quality product at affordable price. Highly recommend!

Makeup Setting sprays

Makeup setting sprays works wonders in setting your makeup and at the same time faking that glow. It will also make your makeup look flawless without being cakey. I really like Caudalie grape water, Caudalie beauty elixir and Mac fix+ for the purpose. Caudalie ones are multi purpose as they have skincare benefits too and can be used at any time of the day. They work as great toners. Mac fix+ however is only for makeup setting. Nyx professional setting spray and Urban Decay all nighter spray are also very good options.

Hope you enjoyed this post. Until next time..

October Obsessions

October Favorites

Its quite evident from the title that I am going to talk about monthly favorites in this post today. October has been super busy with days getting shorter and we had been affected by bug so cold, cough and temperature during first half of the month for myself, son and dear hubby. Glad we are back on track now and its Diwali period so lots of positivity and happiness.

We celebrated day before Diwali with my European friend and her partner. They came over for dinner and we chatted till midnight. She is an old friend of mine and I was so impressed by her talking a lot about Indian Culture, festivals and particularly Diwali. She has always been very curious to know about different cultures and we were very happy to know more about Catholic culture too. Whenever we all meet, time just flies so quickly and we have so much to talk. And OMG she loves Indian food and eats more spicy that I do..lol. She will smile if she will read this post :).

Anyways, let’s jump to the faves of October ūüôā

Colourpop blush | Between the Sheets | $8

Colourpop describes this as a mid-tone beige pink in a matte finish, be a lady in the streets or a freak in the sheets. Its a muted pink coral shade more on the pinkier side which looks absolutely stunning on most skin tones. I prefer pink blush shades in colder months so I think it will be firm favorite in next coming months as well. The pigmentation and longevity of colourpop blushes is amazing. These apply best with fingertips and have cream to powder finish.

Colourpop Eyeshadow | Sunset Blvd | $5

This is a part of Kaepop super shock eyeshadow set. Colourpop describes this shade as a warm golden bronze in a Pearlized Finish. Its a medium gold shade that has beautiful sheen. It applies nicely with fingertips like most colourpop cheek products and eyeshadows. I like that this gold is wearable even during the day and is not too much in the eyes kind of shade. These eyeshadows have great pigmentation and wears over 8 years easily plus there is no fall out with these whatsoever!

Hourglass Ambient lighting edit РSurreal Light Holiday 2016 Palette | £69 | Post here

I bought this palette for my birthday and this gives me such an amazing sophisticated finish. The setting powder is great and gives me soft focus kind of look. Blush and strobing powder are great for soft flush and lit from within kind of look. The bronzer and the lighter blush do not show up much on me but I do mix them with brighter blush to use them. The powders stay on and look fresh even after 6-7 hours of wear. This palette is living up to the hype even if its on the pricier side. Check out the swatches on my post.

Diorskin Nude Air Luminiser | £39 | post here

Dior Nude Air Luminiser is a light beige powder with warm as well as slightly pink undertones and ofcourse luminous sheen. According to Dior, this powder is as light as a breeze, featuring a formula highly concentrated with illuminating pigments in a universal shade that can be adapted to any skin tone.

The powder is very finely milled to give that perfect radiantly luminous complexion that looks natural. The texture of product is very soft but not powdery, stays firm in the pan and tranfers nicely on to the skin…like melts to the skin without emphasizing on pores or texture on your skin.

Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon eyeshadow stick | Gold Digger | £19

These eyeshadow pencils are meant to enhance your eye colour. Using clever colour tricks and light flex technology, these eye shadow pencils can transform the natural colour of your eyes and enhance their look. These are infused with synthetic sapphire, a gemstone with natural soft-focus powers, this long-lasting, paraben-free formula glides on easily and stays in place for up to 10 hours. I have tested this for over 8 years and it stays put. This pencil in Gold Digger is a seductive gilded-khaki that will enhance green eyes. I do not have green eyes but it still looks amazing so I highly recommend checking this shade.

Bourjois 123 perfect cc cream РBeige Clair | £9.99

I can’t find the same shade online and most websites have 4 shades but I guess this is similar to Light Beige. If you’re able to find Beige Clair online, do let me know please. I need to buy a backup.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Complete Coverage weightless concealer РMedium Dark Warm | £17.50

This concealer has medium to buildable coverage and is very light weight on the skin. This does not look cake-y under eyes. If you have oily skin, Urban decay base products might oxidise a little bit so I would suggest a shade lighter only if you have oily skin. If you have deep crease under your eyes, make sure you set this with a finely milled powder to avoid creasing. The shade Medium Dark warm matches my skintone so it works for any pigmentation around nose or any mark but for slight highlighted look I like to mix this with Maybelline age rewind concealer in Nude. You can also get lighter shade from UD and use that for highlighting. Shade Medium Light Neutral works perfect for highlighting if you have Medium skintone.

Sukin Skincare Sensitive skin cleansing gel | £8.10

Sukin Skincare is a herbal Australian skincare brand. This cleanser is soap free and is blended with a complexion-boosting mix of green tea, soothing chamomile, cucumber and avocado oil. This cleansing gel perfectly purifies and cleanses sensitive skin and is gentle enough to use on even the most delicate skin. The cleanser works to remove impurities and excess oils from the skin without drying or ripping off the natural oils from your skin. If you have TK Maxx store near you, you might get Sukin Skincare products at discounted prices otherwise Look Fantastic have various discount codes or bundle deals like 3 for 2 going on most of the times.

*The Ordinary Advanced Retinoid 2% by Deciem | £8

I was sent this Advanced Retinoid by the wonderful team at Deciem as a gift and I didn’t had any hopes from this as one of the products I tried from The Ordinary brand had broke me out (I will disclose that in a separate post). This product OMG is superb. This formulation combines two forms of next-generation retinoid actives in a combined concentration of 2% by weight: These two actives are:

a) Solubilized Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate is a highly-advanced form of retinoid which is, in fact, a non-prescription ester of all-trans direct retinoic acid that offers a multi-fold better effect against signs of ageing than retinol, retinyl palmitate and nearly all other forms of non-prescription retinoid;
b) a sustained-delivery form of pure retinol in a protective capsule system which supports both the delivery and the effect of Solubilized Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate.

This has given a new definition to skincare really. I have been doing double cleansing and double masking but double Serums…seriously??? Yes, I use this before my regular serum. Mostly, I like to use this under Vitamin E or plumping serums. Highly recommend checking this out.

LIQ Ce Serum Night 15% Vitamin E Mask | My Thoughts

Liq Ce serum mask

If you are one of my Instafam member (here), you must be seeing *LIQ Ce Serum Night 15% Vitamin E serum mask in my skincare routines from last few weeks. I have been testing this out on my combination to dry (sometimes dehydrated) skin and shared my first impressions about two weeks ago. Although it is too early to see any long term effects or huge transformation in my skin, but I feel it is definitely making some difference and that is why you see this serum mask quite often on my Instagram photos.

About the Brand: Liqpharm is a young Polish cosmetics company founded in 2014 by a Pharmacist. The main objective of the company is to produce high quality skincare products using pharmaceutical manufacturing standards, high concentrations of active ingredients, thoughtful compositions and scientific approach to the recipe at an affordable price. The company has its own production line and collaborates with the Medical University of Gdansk laboratory.

Target skin types: All skin types.  Mature and young skin.

15% Vitamin E + Hyaluronic Acid + XYLITOL

As it contains 15% Vitamin E + Hyaluronic Acid, I had to try on myself as well as my husband’s skin. My skin (age 31) as mentioned above is combination to dry and my husband’s skin (age 33) is very dry (he sometimes get dry patches on his forehead and around nose.

Bi-phase regenerating and nourishing concentrate: A bi-phase product has components in two phases (usually water and oil) that cannot be mixed without shaking them. It allows the formulator to combine two very separate formula compositions into one, offering a unique texture, experience, and feel.

The ingredients are separate in bottle. When shaken together, they mix to create a super-efficient composition with a unique texture. It also offers convenience of multiple benefits (in this case, regeneration of cells and providing nourishment to the skin) in one product. This means we need to shake the bottle well before each use.

Liq Ce Serum Mask

LIQ Ce night mask used regularly nourishes, regenerates, and provides comfort and proper functioning for both dry and dehydrated skin. The high concentration of vitamin E (15%) not only reduces and slows the aging process of the skin, through the uptake of free radicals, but also improves apparently its elasticity and tension. The addition of hyaluronic acid and xylitol provides a long-lasting moisturizing and smoothing. The skin after night stays well hydrated, smooth, and irritations are relaxed.

Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Propylene Glycol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Xylitol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Citrid Acid, Polysorbate 20, Methylparaben, Propylparaben

Liq Ce serum mask

Liq Ce Serum Mask

Directions for Use: You need to shake the bottle well before use. One pipette per application. Apply every evening on cleansed face and neck. Apply all year round or as a 28-day treatment.

This can be applied as a base for makeup but I like to use it in my evening skincare routines.

Benefits

  • optimal skin nutrition and hydration
  • improving elasticity and firmness
  • smoothing the skin
  • soothes irritation
  • antioxidant protection

This product is made in Poland and is dermatologically tested. It is fragrance free so safe for sensitive skin and is cruelty free brand which I appreciate.

Final Thoughts: These serum mask is very liquid-y in texture and¬†gets absorbed quickly into the skin.¬†It does not result in any breakouts (specially on my sensitive skin). I have got breakouts/milia spots due to¬†clogged pores from use of some high end skincare products in the past. So, being able to find a good product that helps with dry skin¬†and that actually agrees with my skin is a great thing for me. My husband’s skin also feel moisturised and free from any dry patches if he applies this serum a night before.¬†I like¬†this but husband loves this ūüôā Definitely recommend checking this out!

Until next time..

Dior Skin Nude Air Luminizer Powder | Fall 2016 Skyline Collection

Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer | Skyline Fall 2016 CollectionRegular readers know I am a sucker for highlighters ūüėÄ . If anything that took my attention from Dior Skyline Fall 2016 collection, was this Luminizer – Diorskin Nude Air Limunizer – Shimmering sculpting powder.¬†If you follow me on Instagram (here), you probably be seeing this on my feed for quite a while now. ¬†I bought this Luminizer couple of month ago and totally forgot about reviewing it. However, I did share the swatches on my instastory. Without blabbering much, I will quickly share my thoughts.

Packaging: This powder comes in a Navy card box with velvet casting for holding case and a small kabuki style brush. This also comes with a sleeve for the pan. The case of highlighter is mirrored silver with absolutely gorgeous abstract design and a good quality mirror inside. Totally what you expect from high-end makeup products.

Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer | Skyline Fall 2016 Collection

Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer | Skyline Fall 2016 Collection

Shade, Texture & Longevity: Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer #001 is a light beige powder with warm as well as slightly pink undertones and ofcourse luminous sheen.

Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer | Skyline Fall 2016 Collection

Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer | Skyline Fall 2016 Collection

The pigmentation is medium to buildable unlike Becca Champagne pop which is very insanely pigmented and pops in just one swipe. So, you can definitely use this for day to day wear..for work or for a night out.

It stays on for about 8 hours on me without fixing sprays and fades lightly after about 6 hours.

Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer | Skyline Fall 2016 Collection

Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer | Skyline Fall 2016 Collection

Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer shimmering sculpting powder retails for £39 but you might not need this if you already have Dior Glowing Gardens Illuminator or Becca Champagne pop.

On-the-go Beauty SOS

Travel Beauty essentials

I always love to read about travel beauty essentials or on-the-go beauty SOS as these always help me prepare for what to carry in my travel beauty bag. Today I am sharing my picks that I have discovered have helped me in the last few years. If a particular product is not available in travel size version, I like to transfer it to travel size bottles/containers to save space and weight limit. So, without blabbering much, let’s jump to my picks ūüôā

Cleansing wipes/Baby wipes: We all know cleansing wipes are so helpful when we are travelling. Being a mommy of a pre-schooler, I use Baby wipes that I always carry in his bag so that saves me some extra space too :).

Nip & Fab Glycolic Fix Pads: The Glycolic fix cleansing pads are just a quick way of using an exfoliating toner on your face and remove that dullness in just one swipe. These do come in a handy travel size version but you see a full size in the photo just for representation purpose.

Face wash/Cleanser: If you’re travelling on a long flight, you definitely need a Facewash in your Beauty¬†bag. I recommend carrying a gentle moisturizing face wash.

Moisturiser: I like to keep a travel size moisturizer in my beauty bag. I recommend using light weight gel formulations as they get absorbed quickly into the skin and are not sticky at all. I like Vichy Aqualia Thermal gel and Clinique dramatically different moisturizing gel.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir: This is one of the best toners/mists I have discovered that rejuvenates the skin in just one spritz. This is one of the best sellers from Caudalie and there is not even a single bad review about this product. Trust me, this is a beauty sorbet in a little bottle. This has skincare benefits if used for long term but you can instantly fee tightening in pores and smoothing of skin after spritzing this mist. It also makes a good base for makeup, sets your makeup and is great for refreshing your makeup at any time of the day.

Papaya Gold Dr Paw Paw Manuka Honey¬†balm:¬†This is a multi purpose balm enriched with Bioactive Manuka Honey and papaya that soothes, relieves and moisturises the skin. It comes in a handy tube which makes it very hygienic for every use. The balm can be used on lips, dried knuckles, elbows, knees or wherever you’re having dry skin.

Deo/Perfume: This is most essential specially for long flights. I usually keep pocket size perfume samples with me. I actually save my perfume samples for travelling. But for long flights I prefer keeping a roll-on deodorant with me.

Sleep spray: I usually don’t sleep in flights…well I used to when we were just couples but now we are parents so sleeping with a little kid is sometimes not possible. Sleeping sprays are something to consider if you are travelling alone or if you like to sleep in your flights.

Tooth kit: For long flights/journeys, definitely keep a tooth kit with toothbrush, a travel size toothpaste and toothpick for emergencies.

Travel beauty essentials

I use to keep my on -the-go beauty sos products in Boohoo faux snakeskin clutch that stays in my carry bag while travelling

Intensive moisturising mask:¬†I like to apply intensive moisturizing treatment masks while sleeping specially on days my skin gets dry. Travelling is also one of them. So after boarding and having your meal, you can definitely cleanse your face and utilize time by applying thin layer of moisturizing mask. As it is clear, nobody will notice anything on your face. I like Pixi Nourishing sleep mask or Nip and Fab Dragon’s blood plumping mask. This will keep your skin well moisturized but will not replace your body’s need for water. So stay hydrated!

Eye cream: Eye creams can be very handy in keeping your under eyes looking like normal. I recommend checking Clinique all about eyes rich eye cream or Benefit Cosmetics Its Potent eye cream.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse dry oil: This multi purpose dry oil always goes with me wherever i go. I have full size as well as smaller travel size version of this oil. The travel size holds quite a good amount and always stays in my makeup bag. This can be used on face, body or hair and is not sticky at all. Once you use this, you will be hooked!

Tinted moisturiser/cc cream: This is not essential but if you like a little bit of coverage or to even out your skin, I recommend carrying a cc cream or tinted moisturiser. I like Bourjois 123 perfect cc cream from drugstore and Urban Decay Naked Skin One and Done Hybrid Complexion perfector (post here) from high-end at the moment.

Lipstick: On most days I wear neutral lipsticks but if you wear red lipsticks too. I recommend keeping a neutral as well as a red lipstick in your beauty bag. I like moisturizing creamy lipsticks for travelling as your lips can get really dry and chapped. Mac Ruby Woo is a classic red lipstick but it is a retro matte finish so well moisturized lips will be a key to this. Kiko Milano Intensely Lavish Р01 , Kiko Milano Velvet Mat Satin Р612 Strawberry pink and Lakme Enrich Satins Р129 are some of my faves for neutrals. Nars and YSL do some great moisturizing lipsticks too.

Concealer: Your eyes can look very tired due to travelling. Concealer is the best tool to hide those dark circles and bags. I recommend Urban Decay Naked skin concealer or Maybelline Age rewind concealer.

Cream Blush: A light flush of colour on cheeks will make you look healthy. I prefer carrying cream blushers when I’m travelling. These double up as tinted lip balm. Illamasqua cream blush in Seduce is my favorite.

Mascara: A bit of mascara opens up the eyes and makes you look more awake. Taking your trusted mascara always helps when you are out and about. I love Maybelline Lash Sensational as it curls, lengthens and thicken my lashes and is super affordable too.

Boohoo Faux snakeskin clutch

I use to keep my on -the-go beauty sos products in Boohoo faux snakeskin clutch that stays in my carry bag while travelling

I hope you have prepared your checklist or have bookmarked this post for future reference ūüôā

Thank you for reading. I hope I covered everything that you may need while travelling. If not, don’t forget to mention what I might need while travelling next month. I appreciate each ¬†feedback/comment and will get back as soon as possible.

Until next time..

Bamboos vs Fragrance | Gucci Bamboo Eau de Parfum

Gucci Bamboo fragrance

Gucci released a new fragrance recently called *Gucci Bamboo Eau de Parfum ¬†and this perfume comes in an iconic glass bottle. The bottle is cut like an abstract or diamond just like the edges of well cut precious stones. I like the fact that Gucci¬†translated the Bamboo theme to the bottle design and the handle or lid of the perfume is shaped like a bamboo with studded ends which is truly iconic. The bottle looks so pretty on my dressing table. The perfume doesn’t smell like Bamboos though.

  • Top notes: Italian Bergamot, Orange Blossom
  • Heart: Casablanca Lily, Ylang Ylang
  • Base notes: Deep Sandalwood, heady Tahitian Vanilla and unique grey Amber accords.

Personalised Fragrance by Boots

The scent is a little citrusy, a little floral, a little sweet and woody with a hint of vanilla which is chic, posh, feminine and luxurious without being overpowering.  The top notes of Bergamot makes it very uplifting and smell sophisticated. The scent is feminine without being overly sweet. Its a perfect balance between warm , sensual and floral fragrances.

Its a lovely light day time fragrance and it stays all day long on me without giving headaches. It is liked by even those who usually stay away from fragrances so I believe this would be one of the safest options for gifts available even if you don’t know the taste of the recipient. I definitely recommend checking this out ūüôā

Gucci Bamboo Eau de Parfum retails at £58 for 50ml and £70 for 75 ml from Boots.

You can get this fragrance personalized with the Engraving service offered by Boots Emporium Stores at an affordable price. I have shared all the details in a separate post here.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting edit – Surreal Light | Holiday 2016 collection

Hourglass ambient lighting edit | Surreal Light palette

Hourglass powders are known for creating softest, most flattering and lit from within kind of looks. I have always been debating on the Hourglass powders whether they are just for pale and fair skin people or do they actually show up on medium skin as well. Shelling out eye watering ¬£69 on a palette was never easy but the palette was going to release in my birthday month. I knew I wanted something really special specially I missed on the original Ambient lighting edit palette that¬†had 6 pans. So, I finally bought this one but is this palette worth the money? Let’s see ūüôā

These powders are formulated with Photoluminescent Technology to capture, diffuse and soften surrounding light to refine the appearance of the skin. These are designed to deliver a multidimensional luminescence to every skin tone, making it appear softer, younger and lit-from-within.

Hourglass ambient lighting edit | Surreal Light palette

Hourglass ambient lighting edit | Surreal Light palette

Packaging: The palette comes in gold cardboard packaging and the case is matte plastic with marble effect. It looks super pretty in pictures but not too great in real life (atleast not to me). I really like the original classic Hourglass packaging.

Contents: The palette comes with 5 powders and a good quality mirror. The setting powder is the largest pan which I like about this palette because we need setting powder more than any other powders. Along with setting powder, it comes with a bronzer, two blushes and a strobe powder.

Hourglass ambient lighting edit | Surreal Light palette

Shades: This limited edition palette contains 5 exclusive shades:

‚ÄĘ Surreal Light: a sheer nude powder evoking the magic hour of perfect lighting

‚ÄĘ Surreal Bronze Light: a neutral tan shade fused with Surreal Light, for a subtle, natural warmth

‚ÄĘ Surreal Glow: a pale peony pink blush mixed with Surreal Light for a delicate flush

‚ÄĘ Surreal Effect: a cool, pink rose fused with a soft, warm peach for a pop of flattering color

‚ÄĘ Surreal Strobe Light: a glimmering peach powder imparting an alluring highlight

When the palette arrived, I was not too sure whether these light shades will show up on my skin or not. I posted swatches and my first impressions on my Instastory(Follow me here). I also showed how these looked on my medium complexion.

Test on Medium skin: The surreal light setting powder gave me a soft focus lit from within look without looking cakey. I used this all over my face and I quite like it. The bronzer didnot show up well on my skin tone even with heavy hand. The peachy blush Surreal Glow) gave a natural delicate flush and i had to go on twice or thrice with my blush brush to make it noticeable on my skin. The rosy pink blush (Surreal Effect) is nicely pigmented in terms of bronzer and blushes. This showed up in just one swatch and looked flattering on my skin. So, if you’re medium skin and stay away from pink blushes, this blush might work for you. Surreal Strobe Light highlighter looked so pretty on my skin. It is not BAM in you eyes kind of highlighter but still looks very sophisticated and glowy.

Hourglass ambient lighting edit | Surreal Light palette swatches

Hourglass ambient lighting edit | Surreal Light palette swatches on medium skin exclusivey on mstantrum.com

Longevity: I have tested these powders for longevity and these stay on my skin all day and looks fresh even after 6 – 7 hours of wear which I expect from high end makeup.

Overall, I think bronzer (surreal bronze light) could have been better in this palette but it still works for lighter skin tones. The lighter blush (surreal glow) and bronzer (surreal bronze light) may look ashy on darker skin tones.

Rating 3.9/5

This palette can be purchased for £69 from John Lewis or SpaceNK in the UK.

So, is it worth it? You decide ūüôā

Thank you for reading. What are your thoughts on this palette? Do you own any of the Hourglass products?  I appreciate each  feedback/comment and will get back as soon as possible.

September Squad | Monthly Faves

September beauty squadIts that time of the month again…well I am talking about Monthly Favorites here ūüôā My makeup has been more on the autumn/fall lines lately..i have been loving berries, terracotta and warm shades when it comes to eye shadows and lip products.

I have never talked about this palette on my blog before but it is frequently seen on my Instagram on day to day basis and I get asked by so many people about this palette. This is also a very good dupe (in terms of most shades) from Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette so if you can’t get hold of ABH one or find it slightly pricey, I recommend getting this one. I am not a fan of shimmer shades in this palette but mattes and satins are great. I have been reaching for the following shades:

Vogue  Deep peach Рsatin finish

Trend РTerracotta Рmatte finish

New-Tral РBerry Рsatin finish

Tone¬†–¬†Cherry tone plum – matte finish

Makeup Revolution New-trals vs Neutrals swatches

This is the blush I purchased after watching readysetglamour video on YouTube. This blush particularly this shade is so stunning..its a vibrant coral and terracotta shades that looks absolutely stunning on medium to dark skintones. It blends beautifully and is super pigmented so you need to be careful and tap off the excess before applying to your cheeks. The blush lasts all day which we all want.. right? This was so inexpensive and¬†has now been discontinued by BH Cosmetics but you can still found it on Amazon or Ebay. Sorry for sharing the discontinued item¬†but its awesome so if you can get your hands on it, get it…you won’t regret!

I really love Clinique cheek pop blushes firstly the quality is amazing and they are affordable in high end range. The pigmentation of these blushes is just right. These transfer to skin beautifully and give a soft satin sheen. The flower design on the blush pan is really beautiful and make them stand out among other blushes. I like that the blush comes in transparent case which makes the colour clearly visible and you don’t have to check names to know the shades. Heather Pop is muted pinky mauve and is a perfect everyday blush for me.

BH cosmetics Tulip and Clinique Heather pop blush swatches

Studded kiss lipsticks from Kat Von D has fabulous chic packaging. KVD describes Lolita as dusty rose but this shade transfers slightly deeper than dusty rose and looks absolutely stunning. This shade is one of the best selling lipsticks of KVD and looks great on any skin tone. This brightens my face and it is one of those lipstick that can be worn in any season. The formula is comfortable matte but I still prefer to exfoliate my lips before wearing any matte lipstick. The brand claims these to last up to 10 hours but it does not last much on my lips specially with eating and drinking. So, you may need to reapply these after few hours.

Coloured Raine matte liquid paint Р24Seven | £15

The Colored Raine matte liquid paints come in sleek glass tube with striking pink lid and doe foot applicator. The formula is thin, comfortable matte and long lasting. Once applied, it takes about 50-60 seconds to set and once set, it won’t budge a little unless you consume greasy food. It fades slightly on inner corners of mouth after eating greasy food. This liquid lipstick is best to remove with oil based makeup removers or even with coconut oil.

Coloured Raine is a cruelty free brand.

Coloured Raine 24Seven and Kat Von D Lolita swatches

This mascara comes in beautiful gold packaging and does an excellent job of plumping up the drama by increasing the volume as well as length of the lashes without much clumping. The shade is extremely black which i love about this mascara. However, the brush is narrow on the center and thicker at the end or an overall hourglass shape which makes it extremely difficult to use on lower lashes. So, keep this in mind and try using only on upper lashes.

STILA extremely huge lashes mascara

This oil was featured in my comparison post on Super Facialist facial oils here. This cleansing oil is just so fresh and takes you to spring & summer as soon as you open this bottle. The smell is citrus-y and very fresh. I use this as a makeup remover as it melts the makeup easily in seconds after rubbing onto face. I remove the oil with a wet warm flannel and then use any cleanser to remove any traces of oil. I do not have to use micellar water over this oil as it does the job perfectly. This feels very luxurious on the skin and is so affordable which I think is fabulous for an in-between Drugstore to High-end skincare. Definitely check this out.

This cleansing gel is blended with a complexion-boosting mix of green tea, soothing chamomile, cucumber and avocado oil.¬†This is a soap-free cleanser which is gentle enough to use on even the most delicate skin and is non-drying, so skin is left feeling soft and moisturized. The cleanser works to remove impurities and excess oils, all you have to do is take a small amount of¬†cleanser on to dampen hands and massage it on your face, it will lather up with the help of some water. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry :). This cleanser is so gentle that it doesn’t strip natural oils of your skin. I think this cleanser will be my most used cleanser in colder months too. If you have TK Maxx near you, the Sukin Skincare range can be found at much cheaper prices there. I recently bought a backup of my Sukin moisturiser from TK Maxx ūüôā

Thank you for reading. What products have you been loving in September? Do we share any common faves?  I appreciate each  feedback/comment and will get back as soon as possible.

Cherrypicked Colourpop collection | Edit 2

Colourpop eyeshadows , blushes, highlighters and bronzersCouple of weeks ago I posted edit 1 of my cherry picked  Colourpop collection here. I shared lovely swatches of my lip products that I have in my collection and today I am going to share my cheek as well as eye products.

Please be aware that Colourpop shipping and custom charges increase the overall cost of products so readers outside United States should keep the extra cost attached to the products in consideration.

  • Blushers

Colourpop blushers are amazing and retail for $8 in the US. The formula is so different and I don’t have anything like that in my collection. If you touch the product, you will feel like touching it again. The texture is¬†something in between mousse and powder. Both blushes in my collection are very pigmented.

I picked two blushers from colourpop and one of them is Flush’d which is from KaePop Collection. I believe the collaborated products are limited collection. Kaepop Collection was collaboration with Karrueche Tran who is a model with flawless deep tone skin that looks absolutely stunning.

Flush’d is a coral peach toned matte blush with slight golden sheen that looks amazing on all¬†skin tones.

The next blush I picked from colourpop is Between the Sheets which is a beautiful cool toned soft pink toned blush that provides natural flush of colour to the cheeks. I look forward to wearing this blush often in colder months. This blush is matte finish without any sheen.

The longevity of colourpop blushes is also good so you need not worry about fading these from your cheeks. The best way to apply these is to use your fingers instead of brush.

  • Highlighters

Highlighters from Colourpop are very finely milled just like high end highlighters but at fraction of price. These retail for $8 on Colourpop website just like blushers and bronzers. I have shades Wisp and Dream Catcher which are in pearlized finish.

The texture is cream to powder like other colourpop cheek products. However, highlighters feel softer than blushes while making swatch.

Wisp is a finely milled gold shimmer that looks absolutely stunning specially on medium to deep skin tones. This is one of the most popular highlighters from Colourpop.

Dream Catcher is more of a muted rose gold shade that looks gorgeous when applied. Its more of pink toned which i am not very fond of but I still like it when its on my skin.

Dream Catcher is not as shiny and bright as Wisp so it can be a everyday highlighter for many for that subtle muted highlight.

  • Bronzer

I have only one bronzer from colourpop and that is Bronze me from Kaepop collection. As mentioned above its a limited edition collection in collaboration with Karrueche Tran.  All Bronzers retail for $8 on colourpop website.

The shade Bronze me is just warm enough for medium to deep skin tones. This has finely milled gold flakes of shimmer that gives a beautiful sheen like baked bronzers. This may look slightly too orange or warm on Fair to Pale skin tones so you may want to stay away from this shade.

  • Eyeshadows

I ordered 6 eyeshadows out of which I kept 4 with me and gifted others. Eyeshadows retail for $5 on Colourpop website. All eyeshadows are super pigmented and the formula is mousse to powder. These are incredibly soft to touch like Colourpop cheek products.

Sunset Blvd is a pearlized finish gold eyeshadow that looks amazing on my eyes. It has beautiful sheen and is not too bright. I like to wear this on days when I am not sure what I should use as eyeshadow. This is a light wash of colour to your lids that makes you look put together. This eyeshadow is a part of KaePop Collection.

KathleenLights is a vibrant bronze gold shade that has a pearlized finish. This is a shade that gets noticed in a beautiful way. I get so many complements when I wear this. Its definitely a must have if you love warm gold and bronze shades. This eyeshadow was a part of Kathleen Lights where the Light is limited edition collaboration with the beautiful Youtuber Kathleen Lights.

Trois is a beautiful Fall/Autumn plum/maroon shade that has warm undertones. It is a limited edition eyeshadow that was a collaboration with Jenn Im who is a famous Korean-American Youtuber. This eyeshadow has satin finish and looks incredibly beautiful on skin. I am looking forward to wearing this more in colder months.

Liquid Lipsticks Face Off | Coloured Raine & Gerard Cosmetics

Liquid lipsticks face off | Gerard Cosmetics & Coloured Raine

Matte liquid lipsticks are everything, yeah EVERYTHING! I recently purchased Coloured Raine liquid lipstick in shade 24Seven from Beauty Bay website so I wanted to compare the formula with my favorite liquid lipsticks i.e. Gerard Cosmetics Hydra matte range. However, I did pick up another shade ‘1995’ from GC which is popular after their bullet best selling brown lipstick 1995. I will keep this post short, so let’s move on to the face off.

Coloured Raine Matte Liquid Paint | 24Seven | £15

The Colored Raine matte liquid paints come in sleek glass tube¬†with striking¬†pink lid and doe foot applicator. The formula is¬†thin, comfortable matte and long lasting. Once applied, it takes about 50-60 seconds to set¬†and once set, it won’t budge a little unless you consume greasy food. It¬†fades slightly on inner corners of mouth after eating greasy food. This liquid lipstick is best to remove with oil based makeup removers or even with coconut oil.

Coloured Raine lipsticks are currently available in 41 shades including metallic mattes and Beauty Bay stocks 22 of them.

This is a cruelty free brand (in case you are wondering)

Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte liquid lipstick | 1995 | £10.50

If you are a regular reader, you would know I have only good things to say about Gerard Cosmetics Hydra matte lipsticks. The reason being its super affordable (though the prices of these lipsticks have been increased from £9.50 to £10.50 recently which I am not happy about) and super pigmented and long lasting even with lots of drinks or food. The packaging is beautiful sleek frosted tube with golden lid and shade name written on a sticker at the bottom of the tube. The shade 1995 is a Mocha toned nude as per GC website that looks flattering on most skin tones. On my lips it looks more brown than nude and the swatches below show true representation of colour on my lips too.

The formula is very thin and dries out completely matte in seconds. These lipsticks are very comfortable on my dry lips and this was the reason I picked up another shade from same brand otherwise I would have rather picked up something new. That itself speaks volume!

The lipstick stood above any other liquid lipstick in my collection in the greasy food challenge. This will also fade slightly but not as bad as the other lipsticks. The brand offers 22 shades in Hydra matte range at the moment and Beauty Bay has 18 available on their website. The shade Everything Nice has been talked about in many of my posts and swatches can be seen here.

The packaging says this lipstick is cruelty free.

Final Thoughts: I like the shade I picked up from Coloured Raine but I am not too sure if I am going to pick another shade from the range yet. The reason I have picked another shade from Gerard Cosmetics and I am after one more shade from the same range already makes it quite clear that I definitely prefer GC over CR.

Have you tried any of the lipsticks I mentioned above? How would you rate them? Do you have recommendations for any long lasting less drying liquid lipstick that can take the Greasy food challenge? Let me know in the comments section below.

Until next time…

Una Brennan Super Facialist Facial Oils | My Thoughts

Super Facialist by Una Brennan facial oils on mstantrum.comHello Lovelies, If you have been following me on my Instagram (here), you must be bored of seeing the Super Facialist cleansing oils on my page. But trust me, I am not bored of using them. These are such a treat to your skin. Considering I have tested these out on my sensitive skin enough, I am ready to talk about these – if they worked for my combination sensitive skin, how these are different from each other and what i like or hate about them.

First of all if you are not aware, Una Brennan is one of the most accomplished facialists and skincare specialists in the UK. With more than 15 years experience, she is recognised in the beauty world as one of London’s best kept secrets. She has a true passion for skin health and an in depth knowledge of ingredients and their benefits.

Super Facialist Vitamin C + Brighten skin renew cleanser on mstantrum.com

Super Facialist Vitamin C+ Skin Renew Cleansing Oil | £10.99 for 200ml

This cleansing oil is just so fresh and takes you to spring & summer as soon as you open this bottle. The smell is citrus-y and very fresh. The oil has luxurious feel to it and when you apply this, you will be taken to another world really (as if you are in a spa, haha ).

As per the website, Infused with Vitamin C and nourishing Olive, Grapeseed and Rosehip oils, this highly soluble oil transforms itself, upon contact with water, into a light milky texture. Boosted with Rosemary oil, Vitamin E and soothing Cucumber oil it gently dissolves face and eye make-up and removes daily impurities.

I use this as a makeup remover as it melts the makeup easily in seconds after rubbing onto face. I remove the oil with a wet warm flannel and then use any cleanser to remove any traces of oil. I do not have to use micellar water over this oil as it does the job perfectly. However, on days my skin is slightly more sensitive, I avoid using this oil. This can make sensitive skin look flushed due to high content of Vitamin C.

This oil comes in a good size plastic bottle with a normal lid like you get in shampoos and most conditioners. Oil may leak if the bottle is kept horizontally so I suggest transferring some oil to sturdy plastic bottles with tight lid for travelling.

Ingredients

Helianthus annuus (Sunflower) seed oil, Olea europaea (Olive) fruit oil, Vitis vinifera (Grape) seed oil, Laureth-4, PEG-7 glyceryl cocoate, Rubus idaeus (Raspberry) seed oil, Parfum (Fragrance), Citrus aurantium dulcis (Sweet orange) peel oil, Passiflora edulis (Passionflower) seed oil, Rosa eglentaria (Rosehip) seed oil, Ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate, Cucumis sativus (Cucumber) seed oil, Tocopheryl acetate, Citral, Butylphenyl methylpropional, Limonene.

  • Used as a daily cleansing oil/ makeup remover
  • Light texture
  • Luxurious feeling &¬†Citrus-like smell
  • Infused with Vitamin C and nourishing Olive, Grapeseed and Rosehip oils
  • Highly soluble oil that transforms itself, upon contact with water, into a light milky texture.
  • Boosted with Rosemary oil, Vitamin E and soothing Cucumber oil
  • Affordable as you get 200ml of product at just over ¬£10
  • Not very travel friendly
  • May not be suitable for highly sensitive skin that is allergic to Vitamin C products. So I recommend doing a patch test first.

Rating: 4/5 Definitely re-purchase

Superfacialist Rose Miracle Makeover Facial Oil

This offering from Super Facialist brand is slightly expensive. This comes in a tiny glass bottle with a pump. The bottle looks very luxurious and high-end.

This is a nourishing pre-cleanse facial oil formulated with Avocado and Carrot oils, both rich in vitamins, and hydrating Raspberry oil, known for its high Omega 3 & 6 essential fatty acids content. This also contains a soothing brown algae derived active and calming Calendula oil which makes it suitable for most sensitive skins and leave skin feeling cleansed and recharged. This oil is meant to regenerate cells naturally which helps in healthy, young and beautiful looking skin.

When I first bought this oil, i thought this is a treatment oil and is meant to be applied as a facial oil after cleansing (Sorry, that’s just because of the looks of the bottle). However, I wasn’t completely wrong. Due to its amazing ingredients, this oil can be used as an intensive moisturizing treatment or can be mixed with daily moisturizer.

The oil has a beautiful aroma of roses and trust me the smell is very indulging and is not grandma types (if you know what i mean). The texture of oil is very thick and you need to take generous amount on to your palms and rub hands together to warm the oil a bit and then massage onto your face in circular motions. The oil will dissolve any impurities and you can then wipe clean using soft flannel dampened with warm water to remove traces of oil. I like to continue my usual cleansing routine after using this oil to remove all traces of oil from my skin.

Ingredients

Helianthus annuus (Sunflower) seed oil, Persea gratissima (Avocado) oil, Prunus amygdalus dulcis (Sweet almond) oil, Caprylic/capric triglyceride, Rubus idaeus (Raspberry) seed oil, Cucumis sativus (Cucumber) seed oil, Pelargonium graveolens (Geranium) oil, Lavandula hybrida (Lavandin) oil, Eugenia caryophyllus (Clove) leaf oil, Pogostemon cablin (Patchouli) oil, Mentha arvensis (Peppermint) herb oil, Rosa damascena (Rose) flower oil, Acacia dealbata (Mimosa) oil, Viola odorata (Violet) leaf oil, Tocopheryl acetate, Calendula officinalis (Marigold) flower oil, Laminaria ochroleuca extract, Beta-carotene, Daucus carota sativa (Carrot) root extract, Daucus carota sativa (Carrot) seed oil, Ascorbyl palmitate, Citral, Citronellol, Eugenol, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool
