If you follow me on Instagram (here), you probably knew that this post is coming. The reason for this splurge was firstly I had never tried anything from Becca Cosmetics, not even the cult favorite Champagne Pop. Secondly, this was such a bargain as single Champagne Pop highlighter retails for £32 and this whole palette with two good size highlighter pans and 3 blush pans costs just under £50. How could this be missed!
As soon as I got to know this limited edition collection is going to be launched by Becca and the collaboration is with Jaclyn Hill, I knew this was the time to try Becca Highlighters. The only thing that stood out to me from this collection was Face Palette and I knew the highlighters would be BOMB! I pre-booked this through Sephora US but the delivery address didnot match to the address linked to my Credit Card. I was gutted when my order got cancelled! But I’m glad I had second chance through SpaceNK website where I pre-booked this palette on 1st June. The palette got available in the UK (on SpaceNK website and Stores) from 21st June and was dispatched same day.
Packaging: This palette came in a gold card box with white dots and the palette is opposite with white base and gold dots. The palette is very luxurious and is metallic which makes it sturdy as well. It comes with a full size good quality mirror. The names of all the powders are written on transparent plastic sheet with the dotted design as well as written on the back of the palette (which I like as you might lose the plastic sheet in just few days). The area outside pans is also metallic which can get dirty with fingerprints (in case you freak out if your makeup palettes get fingerprints all over).
Shades: I was excited about highlighters mainly because it had the very famous ‘Champagne Pop‘ which is a shimmering skin perfector – pressed and a new launch gold highlighter which is a sister of Champagne Pop and is called ‘Prosecco Pop‘ and is also a shimmering skin perfector – pressed. Both highlighters are just so pretty that I know I will be using them a lot.
The blushes are ‘ Rose Spritz‘ which is a peachy toned luminous blush with gold sheen. This looks very similar to Nars Orgasm blush. This can be worn alone or used as a blush topper.
The second blush is ‘Amaretto‘ which is muted orange mineral blush and looks incredibly beautiful on my skin tone. I can relate this to Nars Tajmahal and Sleek Sahara. The shade is not exactly like that but under same family.
The last blush is called ‘Pamplemousse‘ which is a bright pink mineral blush and can be little too bright for paler skin tones but if you go with light hand, it will look stunning.
All the shades in the palette are so versatile that they will look good on all skin tones. If you’re not comfortable with any one of the pans, I am sure the other shades in this palette will be your cup of tea. There definitely is something for everyone in this palette. I just wish Becca Cosmetics make this as permanent so those who missed can get their hands on this.
Pigmentation & Longevity: The palette is incredibly pigmented and the texture is nice. I have used two of the blushes and both highlighters which stayed for hours. That’s what i expect from a face palette.
Travel friendly: The pans are removable (just in case you are wondering) but I would never depot this palette as its already very sturdy for travelling and has both blushes as well as highlighters which can also be used as eyeshadows. So, definitely worth the splurge for great quality products ideal for multi-purpose use. Plus who would destroy this posh packaging for depotting..lol!
Here’s the fun part – Swatches 🙂
All in all, I am very happy with this purchase and I totally recommend checking this out if the palette becomes permanent later or if you can get hold of their singles.
