Monthly Faves edit | June

June has been the busiest month so far with my giveaway winner being announced in the first week and my sister’s birthday, my sister-in-law and her family’s visit to the UK, Niece’s birthday and my wedding anniversary on 28th followed by my Husband’s birthday on 29th. Aaah that was quite a lot, wasn’t? July will be busy as well as sister in law and kids will be staying for couple of weeks at our home. We are really enjoying with them and my son is just over the moon. He has got cousins to play with all the time and there is so much attention being given to the youngest person who will be 2.5 years this month 🙂

Without blabbering for long, let’s move to this month’s faves 🙂

  • Soap & Glory One heck of a blot primer | £10 | Buy here

At first I didn’t like this primer much because I have large pores and nothing except Maybelline Instant pore eraser works in hiding them. Maybelline pore eraser is a silicone based primer and that might be little heavy on the skin specially in summer. S&G OHOAB primer is very light weight , hydrating and mattifying at the same time. It absorbs into the skin like a moisturiser and just disappears giving you a matte finish. It holds makeup for long plus it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. This is the reason I have been reaching for this primer quite a lot lately. This primer is for all skin types and is definitely one of the best primers I have ever used.

  • Urban Decay Naked skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector | £25 | Buy here

This is a quick base (review here) if you do not want to go with full coverage foundation and concealer routine. The formula is very light weight and it gives beautiful sheer coverage which stays all day. The unique formula has light diffusing spheres which makes your face look flawless and SPF20 provides a decent sun protection when you are out and about in the city. You definitely need a higher SPF if you go to beach or hilly area. As per UD, One & Done is loaded with so many nourishing ingredients (including peptides, vitamins and moisturizers), you’ll be tempted to skip your skin treatment. The best part is when I wear this tinted moisturizer, I need not wear a corrector and concealer because it evens out any discoloration.

  • Becca Cosmetics x Jaclyn Hill Champagne glow face palette | £48

This limited edition stunning palette (review here) had to be featured in this month’s faves edit. I pre-booked this palette through SpaceNK and it arrived after a while. The wait was definitely worth it as its such a gorgeous thing…the packaging is top notch and the pigmentation as well as texture are no doubt incredible. These highlighters and blushes are definitely not for those who wants a subtle glow. These are Bomb ‘the actual highlighters’ and look gorgeous on the skin. The best part is the shade selection – both blushes and highlighters look absolutely stunning on various skin tones. This palette is no longer available for purchase on Sephora or SpaceNK but might come back again as regular collection. You may be able to buy this palette from some Insta stores or through Depop.

  • Gerard Cosmetics Hydra matte liquid lipstick – Everything Nice | £9.50 | Buy here

Honestly this is so far the best liquid lipsticks I have ever tried because it doesn’t get patchy or streaky, it lasts all day, it is comfortable and weightless plus it doesn’t crack or dry out my lips. The colour ‘Everything Nice’ (review here) is just so flattering on my skin tone and it doesn’t make my teeth look yellow. The fact that these are available in the UK at just under £10 makes me love these even more. I am definitely going to try more shades as finding a good liquid lipstick which has great pigmentation and is very comfortable on lips at this price is just too good.

  • Mac Cosmetics Satin lipstick – Twig | £15.50 | Buy here

This is a very opaque mauve toned lipstick in satin finish. The formula is very comfortable on the lips and is very long lasting. I was confused between Cosmo (Amplified) and Twig (Satin) so I settled for Twig as the pigmentation and shade was good enough to cover my dual toned pigmented lips. When I came home and tried this on lips, I just fell in love and now I think I am going to pick Cosmo and Mocha next. The shade Twig is very close to Mehr which is a matte finish. So if you are not comfortable with matte lipsticks, you might want to try this.

  • Inglot freedom system eyeshadows | £5 each | Buy here

Just like Makeup Geek cosmetics or Mac Cosmetics, you can customize Inglot eyeshadows as well. These are super pigmented and the texture is so soft that you don’t need lot of time to blend these. These last all day on my oily lids so you can imagine the great quality of these eyeshadows. These are very under-rated but are just AMAZING. If you haven’t tried these, you should not wait any longer. Don’t forget to read full review here.

On to some skincare now 🙂

  • Pixi Glow Tonic | £18 for 250ml | Buy here

My sensitive combination (mostly dry) skin prone to congestion and whiteheads needs some extra TLC every other day. This acid exfoliant is just BEST and it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I now prefer chemical exfoliation over physical just because the granules can be harsh on problematic skin. This glow tonic is now essential in my skincare routine or even for the quick fix a night before full coverage makeup. This makes my skin look even and free from all dead skin. The results are instant and you notice a glow and smooth texture on your skin. It is going to be my holy grail until I find anything even better.

  • Caudalie Instant Detox Mask | £22 for 75ml | Buy here

Caudalie is a multi-channel French skincare company, specialising in anti-ageing, skincare, body care, fragrance & masks. Ingredients are derived from the grapevine and the company is active in toxicology and ecology.

If you follow me on Instagram, you’d know I love clay masks. This mask was the first product I tried from this brand. The reason of picking up a Detox mask was to have purifying clay mask that can pull out all the impurities from my large pores and clear up my complexion. The mask is expensive but it really is such a lovely mask from French skincare.

  • Caudalie Grape water spray | £6 for 75ml or £10 for 200ml | Buy here

Jasmine (jasminebeautytalk) mentioned about this spray a while back in one of her blog posts. I could not believe its so affordable considering it is from French brand. This 100% organic grape water facial mist is just amazing in charging up your skin and making you look refreshed. This refreshingly cool mist tones & moisturises skin to keep you looking and feeling fresh throughout the day. It is enriched with moisturising polysaccharides and mineral salts, providing an instant boost of hydration whenever you need it. I use it after face masks or any time when my skin needs a little boost. It can also be used for setting up makeup or to refresh makeup when it has started to look dull. It instantly gives dewy finish and makes your makeup look fresh.

What were you loving in your makeup and skin care this month? Do we share any faves?

  3. Great favourites hun! Everything nice is so gorgeous, I totally agree with you, it feels so comfy and is very affordable too considering we can get them in the U.K and don’t have to pay a tonne of customs charges (ABH I’M LOOKING AT YOU!). Also yesss the Inglot shadows are so under-rated in the beauty world I feel, because I made a palette around 1.5/two years ago and everytime I rediscover it I am so impressed all over again haha. I’d love to read a full review on your palette with swatches as the shades you picked look beautiful!

Also I hope you have a wonderful summer with your extended family! My cousin is here from Pakistan and its so nice having someone different visiting and staying with us ^_^
