Hope you’re well. Today I am doing a ‘The Beauty Lover Tag’ post which is slightly different and exciting than the usual makeup or skincare reviews. I’d like to thank my girl friends Kay from Shoes and Glitter as well as Leanne from Lpagebeauty who tagged me for doing this post 🙂
Let’s get straight into the tag 🙂
- If you could have anyone in the world do your makeup, who would it be?
I would like the Makeup Queen – Charlotte Tilbury to do my makeup as all the looks created by her are so flawless and the makeup (particularly the transformation after concealing all imperfections) on her clients is an absolute delight to watch 🙂
- What’s your top makeup tip?
My top tip would be to work on your base. You definitely need to have a good skincare routine in place to have a flawless makeup application. I learnt this hard way. My makeup used to look a bit cake-y and my dry patches used to show up under my foundation but not any more. Exfoliation, Toning and Moisturizing has become a routine now and I am enjoying skincare a lot. This has increased my love for makeup as well.
Other than that, if u ask me only a makeup tip, i would say use appropriate correctors to hide any discolorations.
- What one skincare item could you not live without?
Every step from cleansing, exfoliation, applying face masks till moisturizing are extremely important but Facial oils are my new found love :). I am currently loving the Nuxe dry oil which is super light on the skin and makes me look healthy.
- What are you worst at when it comes to applying makeup?
Concealers!!! I have slightly deep set eyes and I got dark circles after I became Mommy (Thanks to sleepless nights 🙂 #noregretsaslifeisbeautiful). Sometimes, concealers crease in fine lines under my eyes while other times its just not enough coverage. I don’t know how people look flawless in those instagram worthy pictures (this is the main reason why i do not share pics of my face with makeup, i prefer bare face tbh).
If someone can teach me the right products for my skin type and right techniques, i would be grateful 🙂
- What’s your biggest pet peeve about makeup?
Okay, this is interesting! We have had so many makeup trends going on and off like contouring, bronzing, highlighting, strobing, reverse contouring ( i don’t know what some of these are tbh) etc. IÂ get to see so many crazy videos with strong contouring techniques, clown techniques etc on youtube which i never understand. Your makeup has to be fun and doesn’t have to keep up with trends. You should wear what you like and should not bother about what’s hot in the makeup world.
- What’s your favourite makeup era?
I am not able to classify this to any specific era but I like soft makeup ..specially the soft and subtle pinks which is not in the eyes and still makes me look put together for any business meetings or a casual day out.
- Whats your Guilty Pleasure Product?
Well, this has to be my Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow kit £49. This has been my expensive makeup purchase till now (well, it was gifted by dear husband but still). I don’t use it very often because its so pretty to look at! #guiltynotguilty
- Whats your underdog product?
LA girl pro concealers! I compare these to Mac Pro Longwear concealer but these are so inexpensive and under-rated.
- Whats your favourite Makeup product of 2015?
2015 takes me to cream/gel eyeshadows. I liked Maybelline colour tattoos and discovered illamasqua vintage metallix towards end of last year.
I have recently got into eyeshadow palettes which definitely may become favourite for 2016.

I just find both of us so similar :p I share the same thoughts like you for Question No. 5 😛 I dont understand these trends and instead of jumping into the bandwagon i prefer doing what suits me the best, and not follow it just coz it is suppossed to be done 🙂

I love the Maybelline Colour Tattoos as well, they’re such good quality and I love that they’re not hard to track down. If I could have anyone in the world do my makeup, it’d probably be Lisa Eldridge 🙂

Yes, i need to check some other shades too. I am currently in love with on and on bronze. Lisa Eldridge is very talented 🙂 I like makeup of Pixiwoo sisters (Sam and Nic ) too and the very talented Charlotte Tilbury. Ohh there are so many super talented artists , its hard choice..isn’t?
