The Essentials Edit | Burberry

When it comes to makeup, dewy skin chiseled cheek bones and nude lips is my go-to look. This look is also perfect for Fall/Autumn and Winters when the skin is naturally dull and we need some extra glow to make it look healthy and fresh. For me, its an all year round look as I am over 30 and do not want my skin to look cake-y at any times. Radiant skin and nude lips adds sophistication to the look. If you are new to Burberry makeup, this post will also help you pick right products for you.

Burberry Beauty Essentials

The first and essential step to makeup is to prep and prime the skin. This whisper light fluid base primes the skin and illuminates the complexion. The primer has 55% water infused in it and it glides onto the skin providing instant hydration. The main reason I love this primer is that it blurs the imperfections, providing shimmer-free youthful luminosity and healthy looking plumped skin. The primer can be used in multiple ways like using it alone just to blur imperfections and give glow to the skin. It can also be used under  or mixed with foundation to give a dewy finish to the skin and also increase longevity of foundation. It can also be blended into eyeshadow to give a glowing wash of transparency. This base is available in two shades – Nude Radiance & Golden Radiance. Nude Radiance is perfect for Pale, Light , Light-medium skin tones while Golden Radiance would look great on Olive to Deeper skintones.

Now this is a favourite collectors’ product for Burberry lovers. This limited edition highlighter has been going viral on social media since it first launched. This lightweight and illuminating powder is set with an intricate lace-pattern design which is stunningly beautiful. This buildable, luminous shade fuses flattering, subtle highlighting with runway-inspired yet effortless strobing. The complexion is illuminated and features get definition with this pearly, translucent powder across areas of the face where light would naturally hit. This highlighter can be used dry or wet and the shade Rose Gold is a champagne shade that looks stunning on variety of skin tones. The highlighter comes with an applicator brush.

The first creamy pen/stick I tried from Burberry was the eyeshadow stick in Pale Copper and I loved how easy the application with those eyeshadow sticks is. I was thrilled to see these highlighting, contour and lip contour pens this time. The domed tip pen glides onto the skin with precision making the application so easy and quick. This particular Fresh Glow Highlighting Luminous Pen is an effortless, glow-to-go pen to boost radiance with precision highlights. The pen is perfect for strobing and can be used on bare skin or over the foundation. The shade is universal and suits all skin tones. This is also a favourite pick of makeup artists for the runway shows. The pen can be used on high points of cheeks, cupid bow or inner corner of eyes to create a strobing effect and also can be used for layering under powder illuminator for that extra oomph to the complexion.

I have medium skin and finding a perfect nude is such a pain. Fellow similar skin tone peeps would agree :). This Lip Colour Contour pen is has been my best friend ever since it arrived. This is a nude pen to prime, contour and shape, for naturally fuller-looking lips. Lip Colour Contour adds a soft shadow to the lip line, instantly creating the illusion of fuller, more plumped lips. Dome tip makes application easy and quick. The pen also acts as a lip primer to smooth and soften before applying colour, or can be worn alone for a natural-looking nude lip. The formula is weightless, creamy, moisturizing and gives a long-wearing soft comfortable matte finish. The lip colour contour also comes in 4 shades – Fair 01, Light 02, Medium 03 and Dark 04. The shade Medium is a natural nude shade with slight brown undertones. This looks very flattering on medium and olive skin but works as a deep pink lip colour for lighter skin tones.

Face Contour creates soft shadows to enhance, define and sculpt the face for a professional result every day. The creamy, lightweight texture blends seamlessly to a subtle natural shadow. I do get trouble when I try to contour my nose but this dome tip pen helps me applying contour with precision and the creamy formula makes it easy to blend. It looks natural shadow on the skin. This can also be used as a base for powder contour for extra dimension and complements Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base and Fresh Glow Highlighting Luminous Pen perfectly. This pen is available in two shades to suit all skin tones: Medium – 01 for light to medium complexions and Dark -02 for medium to dark complexions. The Face Contour pen is perfect to contour under the cheekbones, jawline and along the nose to sculpt, shade and define, or apply to the eye socket for a bigger eye effect.

  1. I have the face contour in my list to buy since forever but never got around to it. You already know I’m a huge fan of Burberry, honestly it feels like I’m slowly but surely buying everything from the brand.

  2. Oh my Gosh, its so hard to decide what to buy and what to leave. As you say these are essentials, I couldn’t agree more. They are all well picked. Thanks for sharing.

  3. I was waiting for this post and you have made it so difficult to choose one, I am going to check the highlighting pen, face contour, highlighting palette and the primer out of these. That highlighter is just everything, the packaging, the shade is insanely beautiful.

  4. Dewy skin and chiseled cheeks is my favourite makeup look too!!! I would so love to try the Burberry foundation, at 30 odd pounds sounds great!!!
