Beauty Discoveries - Ms Tantrum Blog

Beauty Discoveries | Skin & Hair

Its been a while since I did my last Beauty Discoveries post. I thought of sharing some nice products that are new in my routine and some that I have been using for quite a while but didn’t appear on my blog before.

This clear unperfumed elderflower-enriched gel cools skin in the delicate eye area. This gel doesn’t irritate sensitive skin and sensitive eyes. The gel is cool and refreshing. This eye gel can be stored in the fridge for extra cooling sensation. I think this is one of the most affordable eye gel available. This is also fabulous for tired eyes.

This mud mask is packed with 100% natural ingredients, vitamins, organic hydrating botanicals, and natural Dead Sea Mud. This mask uniquely and instantly revitalises tired looking skin for a smoother and healthier looking face from day one – all 100% naturally and cruelty free.  The mask has unique emollient combination of Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, and Aloe Vera that keep skin hydrated while lifting up all the toxins from the skin making it more radiant. The unique Vitamin-Pro b5 formula floods the skin with moisture as it actively pulls water from the air to make you look instantly more refreshed and energised (#clever). The mask is suitable for all skin types – Dry, Combination and Oily skin.

Less is More products contain high concentrations of natural anti-oxidants as a component of native, cold-pressed vegetable oils and butters, as well as herbal extracts and essential oils. They protect the hair effectively from damage caused by the sun / UV rays and the attack of resulting free radicals.

Less is More’s Lavender Smooth Balm nourishing leave-in conditioner, ideal for dry and thick hair, anti-frizz, makes hair wonderfully soft, supple and easy to comb. This leave-in conditioner protects against heat when styling (e.g. when straightening) and helps to prevent split ends. Sun-stressed hair will relish a weekly care treatment with this balm. This intensive care concentrate balm nourishes and moisturises the hair. I apply a small amount evenly to wet hair and leave them. My hair look nourished and soft after every application.

This finishing spray is a two-phase glossing spray to smooth frizzy and damaged hair, soften and to help minimize dryness, colour-fading and UV damage. This hair mist has Wheat Germ Oil which has highest Vitamin E content, Cistus Extract (Rockrose – its anti-oxidant properties protect hair and fortify the scalp) and Soy oil extract which has moisture regenerating properties and gives hair wonderful shine and softness. This mist smoothes and protects coloured and stressed hair to smooth the hair structure with its anti-static and anti-oxidative effect.

This is one of the simplest yet effective lip balm. Its made of 100% natural ingredients – Marmars beeswaxOrganic cocoa butter, Sweet almond oil. Marmars beeswax acts as a protective barrier, locking in moisture and reducing dryness. Organic cocoa butter is a natural emollient, which helps to repair skin and sweet almond oil can easily penetrate deep into the skin leaving it super soft and hydrated. This balm can also be used to soothe sunburn, bee stings and rashes. I like to apply this every morning and whenever I am not wearing lipstick. This product is cruelty-free, Paraben-free, Natural & Hypoallergenic.

If you have dry, flaky scalp and are looking for a gentle scalp clearing shampoo, this can be a good one. This shampoo is blended with potent ginger from Sri Lanka, birch bark, white willow extracts and Community Trade honey from Ethiopia. I like to add a few drops of Tea Tree oil into it while washing my hair for added benefits. This improves itchy scalp with continuous use.

Misfits Celebrity Management looks after reality TV stars such as Geordie Shore’s Holly Hagan and Chloe Simms from The Only Way is Essex and they launched Misfit Cosmetics with some exciting products. The idea is that these products help the user to achieve an Instagram-filtered look naturally – without the online filter and for this reason, their tag line is #WhoNeedsAFilter. The brand asked me if I would be interested to test their bestselling Blackhead Extraction Paste and I was like Yes Please :).

I have combination skin with oily t-zone and my nose is quite prone to blackheads as well as whiteheads so I was excited to use this mask on my T-zone. The mask is easy to apply and is jet black like charcoal. you can apply this with your fingers and leave it for 2-25 mins whilst it dries. There is a bit of tingling but no irritation as such. When it dries, you can pick up the edges and pull it off. The mask lifts up most blackheads and whiteheads on the first use and with regular use, you will see improvement in the skin.

I have medium length thick hair which are naturally wavy and can easily tangle. I usually don’t spend much on hair combs but I have been having hair fall issues after pregnancy. I do understand the importance of using good products and when I was asked if I want to try this comb handmade by Artisans in Germany through more than 30 production stages, how could I say No?!

This vulcanised rubber comb is perfect for combing long or thick hair, whether it is wet or dry. The comb is kind to your hair and helps to prevent damage. The comb has wide, burr-free teeth that glide effortlessly through the hair to leave it smooth and soft, without causing tears or splits. It also promotes hair growth and removes imperfections so a true multi-tasker! Though it is a bit expensive for a hair comb, I won’t say it is an essential product but if you have hair fall issues or your hair get tangled easily, this would be a good to have product in your haircare drawer.

I got to know about these supplements via Cosmopolitan Article and I was intrigued to try these specially because these not only are targeted for ageing but also improves skin texture and hydration levels. I am in my early 30s and I use good skincare products however if the diet is not complete, supplements can be beneficial. These supplements promote better sleep, increase immunity and provide glow to the skin. These Anti-ageing supplement is the first and only natural supplement to fight all nine causes of ageing from within. I tried couple of face masks from Freeze 24*7 Skincare – The company that is more into anti ageing and their products were compared to Botox in a Jar when they launched their skincare line. I tried Anti-Gravity Lifting Face Mask (for testing) as well as Hydrating face mask (for hydration needs) which are some of their best sellers. I’m in my early 30s and I definitely don’t need intense skin tightening requirements but for testing purposes, I decided to give Anti Gravity Lifting mask a go and I was so impressed. This premium coconut gel mask is made in Korea from all-natural fermented coconut juice which contains Vitamins B and C. The mask claims to improve the appearance of fine lines and Active Lifting ingredients help to strengthen skin tissue and restore skin structure. I couldn’t test for anti-ageing properties but my skin looks more nourished after using this. The hydrating face mask give the skin a boost of instant hydration! It is formulated by top dermatologists to effectively provide an abundance of moisture to relieve dry skin. Moisturizing peptides penetrate deeply into the skin to give it a boost of instant hydration. Amino-Acids reinforce skins natural barrier to seal in moisture for long lasting hydration as well has aiding in skin cell growth. My combination to dry skin loved this gel mask and would definitely recommend if you have similar skin type.

Most of us are guilty of having too much sun exposure at some point in our lives. I recently got my hands on this intense moisturiser that repairs and replenishes the skin and works to renew the look of dry, ‘leathery’ skin associated with sun damage. This moisturiser helps to visibly improve signs of long-term photo damage and the impact of UV exposure, the formula combines potent antioxidants with intense emollients to hydrate skin whilst restoring natural radiance and resilience. Skin is quenched, replenished and smoother-looking. I am currently using this cream on my arms and the texture as well as skin tone is definitely improving. This is available at LookFantastic & QVC UK.

I usually don’t talk about hand gels but I can’t stop loving these little hand cleansing gels from French brand Merci Handy. These have tiny beads that melt into skin and these smell nice unlike regular sanitary gels. These hand gels leave my hands clean and soft. These gels are easy to travel with and are always found in my handbags. I also mentioned these hand gels here & here. Flower Power, Black Vanilla & Lollipop are some of my favorites from the brand. These are available at Topshop and Fenwick Bond street.
