Lovin’ Lately | January Faves

Jan Faves

January has been exciting month for me. 14th’ Jan’ 2017 marked one whole year of my blogging journey. My son turned three on 24th so it was double celebration last month. The other reason to get excited was to try out loads of new products some of which were purchased on Boxing Day and New Year sales while others were gifted to me. I’m going to share the ones that scored the ‘Favorites Tag’ in my beauty book last month.

*The OUAI dry Shampoo | £20

I have dry scalp but my hair can weigh down by day 3 of washing. A quick fix is so important for a Mummy of a 3-yr old who is always running. A dry shampoo comes to rescue on days I want to go out and didn’t have time to wash my hair.

A dry shampoo that smells amazing, neutralizes the product build up, doesn’t leave a white residue, makes your root feel weightless, your hair look gorgeous (like just got shampooed and blow dried from a Salon)…that good its is! However, if your scalp gets greasier easily, you can pass this. I totally recommend this Dry shampoo for dry scalp or for those whose scalp can get flaky in cold harsh weather. Yes, I am hooked to this super luxurious dry shampoo. This can be bought via Cult Beauty, Beauty Bay, Sukha London, Panache Cosmetics, Feel Unique, SpaceNk in the UK.

*VLC creme to powder foundation | £43.50 | Post

It seems like this foundation has been though lot of torture and abuses but trust me its been the most used foundation lately. Consider the state of foundation as the’much loved product’ of the month.

It is the only foundation that gives me most natural finish. The coverage is medium to build-able. When I first received this, i didn’t like it much because i was not using this with damp sponge (Thanks to dear Priya who mentioned about using this with damp sponge for better coverage). I was trying this as a cream foundation and used fingers at first. This foundation changes texture when applied. So, from creme, it changes to powder and gives a beautiful velvet-y finish. It is undetectable on skin and the shade range is good. Warm Beige is my closest match. The key to this formula is hydration. You should apply a moisturizer or oil to your skin and then use this with damp sponge.

VLC products are now easily available in the UK via Cult Beauty, Feel Unique, Look Fantastic, Sukha London and more.

*VLC pearl x eyeshadow Etherea | £19 | Post

You might be seeing this eyeshadow quite regularly on my feed along with the ABH MR palette because its my go-to for a quick wash of colour to my eyes. The shades in this pan are so gorgeous and works wonders for my skin tone. The unique pattern gives me a different colour everytime I use this and makes me love this even more. The gorgeous marble chip pattern is to die for! If you like to keep your makeup/eyeshadow collection short and u buy only essentials then also I would HIGHLY recommend buying this. Trust me, you’ll thank me for this recommendation!

Becca Cosmetics Blushed with Light | £32

I already have so many blushes and highlighters that my next generations can use them easily :D. So, it was definitely NOT a need for me. However, when I saw this at half price in SpaceNK VIP Sale before Boxing Day, I snapped it instantly! I know whole beauty community in the UK was talking about the insane discount on this palette just when the sale started. I am so glad I got this as this has been my most reached for blush palette. This palette features two of BECCA’s best selling shades – Luminous Blush Snapdragon and Mineral Blush in Songbird, as well as a new shade Wisteria.

-Mineral Blush in Wisteria (matte soft rose)

-Mineral Blush in Songbird (shimmering peach)

-Luminous Blush in Snapdragon (luminous coral)

This palette is still available on Beautylish (ships internationally) in case you are looking to buy.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette | £41

I was resisting buying this eyeshadow palette as I already had similar shades in my Makeup Geek single pans collection and also had a Drugstore palette (Makeup Revolution New trals vs Neutrals) in similar tones. But seeing this on Instagram on almost everyone’s profile and everybody raving about the quality of these shadows, I gave up! I had to see what’s the hype about so bought this baby up. Trust me I fell in love with mattes all over again. These are so pigmented and easy to blend that I have started wearing shades that I never thought i would wear..like lilac on medium skin 🙂 .

Palette Contains:

  • Tempera – A matte cream beige.
  • Golden Ochre – Earthy yellow with a matte finish.
  • Vemeer – An iridescent powder pink.
  • Buon Fresco – A matte lilac.
  • Antique Bronze – A burgundy toned chocolate brown with a cranberry shimmer.
  • Love Letter – A vivid raspberry with a matte finish.
  • Cyprus Umber – An intense matte finish chocolate brown.
  • Realgar – An intense burnt orange with a matte finish.
  • Warm Taupe – A soft caramel toned grey with a matte finish.
  • Venetian Red – A rich cranberry with a matte finish with a hint of shimmer.
  • Red Ochre – A deep brick red with a matte finish.
  • Primavera – A champagne shimmer.
  • Burnt Orange – A matte finish warm orange.
  • Raw Sienna – A sand brown with a matte finish.

I am thinking of making my own custom eyeshadow quad as these single pans are now easily available via ABH UK website.

ABH Modern Renaissance Palette

*Nudestix Magnetic Eye Color – Night | £24| Post

Nudestix magnetic eye color in Night is very creamy, pigmented and very long lasting. It glides like a dream and once applied, the pencil sets within seconds.

It is a darkest black shade that looks beautiful and is as dark as Night. I like to apply this in my waterline as the black shade defines my eyes so well. This shade also makes my lashes look fuller (if applied to upper lash line). This comes with a sharpener which I really appreciate for an expensive product.

Jurlique Rose moisture plus moisturising cleanser | £18 | Post

This is a lightly whipped formulation of Rose Hip Oil and Willow Bark Extract this luxuriously hydrating cleanser provides immediate and long lasting hydration to the surface of the skin whilst dissolving impurities and enhancing cell turnover. The cleanser looks like a pearly cream that feels super light and airy on the skin.

The cleanser is very luxurious to use and doesn’t make my combination to dry skin feel tight/dry. It makes my skin squeaky clean and refreshed keeping it moisturized. The rose scent is very sophisticated unlike the regular rose scent and is very uplifting.

*Janjira Thai Lime & Ginger Body Butter | £26 | Post

This exotic smelling body butter is enriched with Ginger and citrus extracts that helps replenish and moisturise the skin. If you are someone who doesn’t like thick sticky body butters that take hours to absorb into skin, then this one is for you. This has thin creamy texture (not too thin like a moisturising lotion but slightly like a light weight rich cream) that absorbs quickly while keeping your skin soft and moisturised all day. If you have dry skin, you can even use this as a face cream. My husband uses this daily as a face cream and he is just addicted to this stuff. This body butter has become staple in my daily skincare routine.

Until next time…
