Being Mommy of a school going kid, I always reach for quick and easy makeup on day to day basis. By Quick and Easy doesn’t mean, I would compromise on formula and finish of products. I reach for the options that make me look put together in less time but also feel luxurious on my skin. When it comes to lipsticks, pigmentation is equally important for me. I have been loving Suede Lips by Rodial Skincare lately mainly because these are jumbo crayon style modern lipsticks and the formula is just everything!
Packaging – These jumbo crayon lipsticks come in card box packaging with matte finish.
Texture & Finish – These lipsticks are very creamy and glide effortlessly like butter. The finish is soft matte almost like suede and these are super comfortable on the lips. The lipsticks are enriched with Vitamin E that prevents lip from drying.
Pigmentation – These lipsticks are intensely pigmented and give opaque finish in just one swipe. These work perfectly for pigmented lips.
Longevity – These are long wearing lipsticks but need touch up/ reapplication after meals which doesn’t bother me as the formula is absolutely amazing.
Shades – These jumbo crayons are available in 4 shades
- Melrose Ave – Inspired by the Classic Californian more natural golden look, Melrose Avenue is your perfect nude shade. Ideal for everyday wear this is a must-have make-up bag essential.
- Calabasas – Calabasas is a soft terracotta pink perfect for anytime pick-me-up shade. Its a my lips but better shade for me and I love it!
- Big Apple – Inspired by the confident, independent city woman, Big Apple is a beautiful soft burgundy berry colour to add a touch of sophisticated colour for a night out with the girls.
- Rodeo Drive – Inspired by the sultry, more playful woman who likes to add a statement to a classic look, Rodeo Drive is a rich orange red and is perfect for glamming up your look.
These lipsticks do require re-application / touching up after meals but that is totally acceptable for me as the formula and finish are pretty amazing. Their makeup feels luxurious on the skin just like their skincare products.

I have Big Apple and I find that I really need to prep my lips before application or it would highlight all the dryness. The shade is gorgeous though.

These remind me a lot of the nars lip pencil which I looooove. I’m not sure if there’s any place nearby that I can swatch these but if I ever see them I’ll have to swatch them!

This is a rather daft question but has anyone figured out how to unwind the pencil to get more out of it? Mine doesn’t twist?? does it have to be sharpened? The Pencil is plastic so I doubt it?
