When it comes to Makeup, Bourjois Paris is one of the top brands on the UK Highstreet. Everyone might have tried atleast something from the brand. If not much, their Rouge Edition Velvet Matte lipsticks have been so popular. They have now added newest lipsticks to the Rouge Velvet range and these are called Velvet The Lipstick*. However unlike Rouge Edition Velvet Matte Lipsticks, these are regular lipsticks but with formula as amazing as liquid lipstick (I would say even better than that!).
Packaging | These lipsticks come in sturdy plastic packaging like classic lipsticks. The shade of bullet matches exactly to packaging so finding right shade is easy without opening lids. The applicator/bullet is shaped like a tear drop which makes application excellent and easy.
Texture & Finish | The lipsticks are so creamy that they glide like butter on lips. The lipsticks set into matte finish within seconds. The finish is more on comfortable velvet-y matte side and these do not cling to dry/chapped lips (if you have that issue)
Pigmentation | These are absolutely opaque in just one swipe and not even one single shade is streaky or less pigmented. If you have dual tone lips or have hyper-pigmentation on your lips, opaque lipsticks are your answer and you cannot go wrong with these.
Longevity | Bourjois says these lipsticks lasts upto 24 hours but honestly I cannot wear makeup for that long for sake of testing. I however tested these for upto 12 hours nd I confidently can say that these are very long lasting lipsticks. I had few drinks and stir fried vegetable meal and the lipsticks faded around inner corners (because of the oil in meal). I have no complaints because if oil couldn’t cut waterproof makeup, it would be dye..lol. I also carried Waterproof test against these and hands down! These passed with flying colors 🙂
Shades | Normally when any brand releases new lipsticks, I look for shades that work for my medium skin tone but Boy oh Boy, Bourjois has done an amazing job with shade selection too! All shades look super pretty on variety of skintones. Out of 12 shades, I see myself wearing most of these daily and few for special occasions. There is definitely something (read a lot ;)) for everyone here.

Overall Thoughts | I cannot be any happier than finding one of the best lipsticks which ticks all boxes and these are even better than most high end lipsticks. I highly recommend trying these.
p.s You can also use Bourjois miraculous contour universal liner on your lip contour if you want but i did not feel the need to as the lipsticks do not bleed and perform brilliantly!
