Spring lipsticks edit 2/2

Hello Darlings,

Hope you’re well and enjoying this lovely weather. For a change, rain seems to be pleasant to me and I am enjoying it just like someone who fells in love enjoys walking in rain and enjoys getting drenched (Nopes, I am not in love again! :D)

If you read my blog post on edit 1 of Spring lipsticks (if not, you can check here) , you must be waiting for the edit 2 . I know, its been more than a week now but trust me I wanted to do this blog post couple of days ago (considering pics were ready and I was desperate to write ) . If you are a mommy , you can relate to various emergencies we get sometimes (for eg. in my case , my naughty 2+ old son smashed screen of my laptop last week 🙁 The laptop was on the carpet and mister decided to stand on it to get a better view outside the window. Few incidents do make me realize why this stage in kids is called ‘Terrible Two’ ). I am so sorry for the delay.

So Here I am ready again with another post 🙂

Kiko Milano - 612 Strawberry pink

6) Kiko Velvet Mat Satin Lipstick – 612 Strawberry Pink £6.90

Look at the name! Kiko has named this formula Velvet Mat Satin which is matte but as comfortable as satin lipsticks (formula looks similar to Revlon colorburst matte balms). This is really pigmented lipstick and gives a good colour pay off even with single swipe. The shade is beautiful muted coral pink with a hint of brown which looks so pretty in Spring/Summers and is very easy to pull off without looking bold. Available here

7) Bourjois Rouge edition velvet lipstick – 07 Nude-ist £8.99

Bourjois products are usually hits so I had to try their liquid lipsticks. I bought two shades Flamingo and Nude-ist and both are beautiful. My sister took Flamingo which suited her very well.

This lipstick has a matte formula which is very comfortable on my lips. The shades Nude-ist and Flamingo are very pigmented so you need not worry about uneven application or your natural lip colour peeking through. Its one of my faves and I definitely recommend trying them if you have not already! Available from Boots, Superdrug or Lookfantastic.

8) LA Girl Matte Flat finish Pigment Gloss – Bazaar £6.90

If you have seen my #instafeed , you know I use LA Girl Pro Concealers and Correctors often. I like the pigmentation of their products and the fact that these are very inexpensive. The shade Bazaar is bright and vibrant coral pink which looks really pretty on lips but the formula is little drying . I suggest you exfoliate and hydrate your lips with lip balm before applying this lipstick. This is a super long lasting lipstick and I use micellar oil or cleanser to remove so it won’t budge if you eat or drink. I am not a fan of packaging or its applicator though but at this price, really can’t complain! Available at Cocktail Cosmetics and is available cheaper at Amazon or Ebay.

9) MAC Amplified Crème – Impassioned £15.50

Those who love pinks, Mac Impassioned or Girl about town are must haves for you. I do not own the very famous Girl About Town yet but this one is quite similar. Its a vibrant Amped-Up fuchsia shade which looks so pretty in pictures as well as reality. This lipstick works so well for special occasions as well due to the fact that it photographs beautifully. The formula is creamy and is super pigmented as we have with other amplified finish lipsticks. As its not matte, it needs reapplication after about 4 hours or so. Available here

10) Loreal color riche moist matte Glamour Fuchsia £5.50 | MAC Retro matte – Flat out fabulous £15.50 | Post

I am covering these lipsticks in a single head due to these being dupes to each other in terms of colour. So, you need not have both like me 😛

I did a Dupes blog post on these two some time back which you might be interested in reading here. As you can see in the swatches, both these lipsticks are beautiful Orchid purple shades. Glamour Fuchsia is comfortable matte while Flat out Fabulous is traditional retro matte which is very very matte. You need to make sure your lips are well exfoliated and hydrated before wearing Mac while you can get away with Loreal Glamour Fuchsia. I bought Glamour Fuchsia from Amazon as this shade was not available in drugstore/highstreet and Mac lipstick from Duty Free IGI Airport Delhi but you can buy from Mac website.

I need to try other shades as well. I am into liquid lipsticks these days as u can tell from my instagram #motd feeds 😉

  2. I have Girl About Town and it’s such a beautiful color! As far as MAC’s retro mattes, Flat Out Fabulous looks weird on me so I got All Fired Up instead. I found you on Kay’s beauty tag (she tagged both of us) and I really like your blog, so lets follow each other!
