Who doesn’t like their skin and bodycare to be pure and natural but at the same time aromatic to give a beautiful sensory experience?! I want to introduce you to Isla Apothecary which is a cruelty-free, vegan skin and bodycare brand from London. The brand utilises the benefits of organic, natural ingredients to create products with aromatherapy experience. Isla Apothecary believes in a ritualistic, enjoyable, and less cumbersome skin and self-care regimen.

I tried couple of hero products from the brand and I can confidently say I am hooked to these already.
- Neroli Body Oil | £32 for 100 ml
This 100% natural certified organic multi-purpose Neroli Body Oil is the winner of Beauty Shortlist Awards 2018. This is a dry body oil that can be used in the bath, in massage, and is gentle enough for the face. Skin becomes silky to touch from the highly-absorbent and skin-soothing seed oils rich in essential fatty acids.
The heady and romantic floral and peppery aroma of the bitter-orange blossom is the proud and exquisite heart note of Neroli Body Oil.
A citrus blend of Neroli, Petitgrain and Mandarin oils cleanse and balance the skin, improve elasticity, and soften the appearance of scars and stretch marks, in a rich and grounding base of Frankincense and Patchouli oils that accommodate healing and cell regeneration.
Ingredients: Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) oil + Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (Coconut) oil + Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) oil* + Rosa canina (Rosehip) seed oil + Tocopherol (Vitamin E) oil + Citrus aurantium (Neroli) flower oil + Pogostemon cablin (Patchouli) oil + Boswellia serrata (Frankincense) oil + Citrus Aurantium dulcis (Petitgrain) twig oil + Citrus nobilis (Mandarin) oil. Naturally occurring allergens in these essential oils: Citral, Geraniol, Farnesol, Limonene, Linalool.
I love the aroma of this oil and the fact that its dry oil, you can use it in any season without feeling sticky. I am currently enjoying the oil on my face and body in summers. I have Keratosis Pilaris condition on my arms and my skin benefits from cell regeneration. If you have spots or stretch marks, this oil would be great addition to your skincare / bodycare regimen. Due to its amazing healing and balancing properties, I would highly recommend this oil for all skin types. You may also buy this oil from Content Beauty.
- Refine + Radiate Beautifying Face Mask | £22 for 120 gms
Coming from Indian roots, I have always had soft spot for fresh ingredients and freshly made masks from my kitchen. Growing up, I have been using masks with ingredients like sandalwood powder, turmeric etc. Most south-asian women would relate to me as the popular mixture of sandalwood, turmeric and gram powder is even used before wedding as a ceremonial thing and it is believed to bring radiance and glow to the skin of bride. This refine + radiate mask brings back those memories from India.
The mask comes as a dry powder mixture of Coconut milk powder, sandalwood powder and turmeric powder.
Ingredients: Cocos nucifera (Coconut) milk powder* + Pterocarpus santalinus (Red Sandalwood) wood powder + Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) root powder*.
*Vegan + Food Grade
The mask can be made a smooth paste using rose toner, water, milk or honey. The mask when dried also acts as an exfoliator when massaged gently in circular motion with warm water. This mask soothes, restores moisture, and nurtures even the most sensitive skin to greater resiliency. Please do not be worried if your face looks slightly yellow after washing off this mask, that’s temporary and its because of turmeric in the mask. Turmeric has healing properties and it repairs the skin naturally. It also provides radiance to the skin and evens out skin tone.
This mask can also be purchased from Fragrance Direct or Love Lula.
If you haven’t tried anything from the brand yet, I highly recommend you do. I bet you’ll be addicted to the aroma plus the natural ingredients would only do good to your skin. The oh-so-chic packaging is a bonus for your bathroom shelf!
Until next time
