Weather is crazy here in England and we have forecasts of snow in April. Yes, this week seems to be chilliest in Spring with temperatures going as low as Zero degrees. Well, England’s weather is always in the talks but come’on we were supposed to have spring!
Anyways while re-organizing my makeup this morning, I realized I had Makeup Revolution’s I <3 Makeup ‘I Heart Chocolate’ Palette | £7.99 (similar to Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette) for quite few months now and I never get round to sharing my thoughts and swatches. So, Here I am today sitting with this beautiful palette which smells so delicious 🙂
Packaging: Comes in a thin card box with all shades at the back. Palette is a sturdy plastic and looks like chocolate from outside. Smells exactly like chocolates and every time I open it, i want to eat it 🙂
A full size mirror is a plus point!
Shades: A total of 16 shades (mattes and shimmers) including two brow bone highlights (a matte and a shimmer) – Good job!
Absolutely love the names of shades, the person/artist who named it has done a brilliant job.
Shade names are not written on the palette but a plastic sheet is given with all shade names like most drugstore palettes. If you are likely to lose the plastic sheet, i would recommend sticking it at the back of the palette with a tape.
Let’s have a look at the shade names followed by swatches 🙂
You Need Love Matte cream highlight
Piece Me Together Khaki with gold shimmer
One More Piece Matte Caramel brown
Love Torn Plum with gold shimmer
Stolen Chocolate Matte Dark Brown
Thank Friday Matte nude-y brown
More! Champagne shimmer – Beautiful highlight shade
Pleasure Girl Matte Chocolate
Meet Chocolate Matte pink
Unforgivable Violet shimmer
Love Divine Bronze shimmer
I feel ‘Meet Chocolate’ and ‘Pleasure Girl’ are not appropriate names. I would have given ‘Pleasure girl’ name to the pink shade and ‘Meet Chocolate’ to the brown.
Smooth Criminal Light bronze shimmer
Chocolate Love Gold shimmer
You need More Copper shimmer
What A Way to Go Berry shimmer
Endorphins Ready! Cream finely milled shimmery highlighter with a slight pinky sheen
Pigmentation: All shades are nicely pigmented with couple of shades being a little chalky on first application but when top layer is brushed off they are as creamy and blendable as all other shades.
The palette is well loved as you can tell how much I have used specially the golds 🙂
Longevity: Without primer, these eye shadows stay atleast 4-5 hours which is really good for a drugstore palette.
I love my golds and any palette which has nice selection of neutrals and golds is right up my alley. Which makeup shades are you drawn to? Let me know in the comments below.
Until next time..
Loads of love,
