Fragrance du Bois is famous for crafting the world’s most evocative and exclusive perfumes. The brand uses only 100% pure, sustainable, and the highest quality natural perfume oils and extracts from sustainable sources. Santal Complet is one of my all time fave fragrance from the brand. The fragrances from FDB smell refined and very high quality. Last month, the brand’s Director Nicola reached out to me and offered me to try a few of the fragrances from the brand. I was obviously over the moon and this opportunity has let me try a lot more from the brand which I am so happy about!
New York 5th Avenue is a part of brand’s Fashion Capitals collection that takes it’s inspiration from some of the world’s most iconic cities – London, Paris, Milan and New York, which also are regarded as luxury fashion, shopping and cultural destinations.
Packaging: First things first, let’s check out the gorgeous packaging. The fragrance comes in a heavy glass bottle with a weighted metal lid. The lid has Swarovski embellishments on the neck. The bottle comes in a very stylish velvet case with satin material on the inside. This looks like a box of an expensive jewelry piece. You get such boxes with Diamond or 22 Carat gold jewelry necklaces. This obviously showcase every little detail added to this luxurious fragrance.
It’s not easy to create a fragrance inspired by the name of one of the most diverse, evolving, and breathtaking cities in the world. New York is an unforgettable inspiring place.
This fragrance is dedicated to the winter in NYC. It’s woody, sweet, warm spicy opening of bergamot and rose, introduces the sweet floral and spicy heart note represented by; caramel, violet, and cypriol. The long-lasting base note is composed of vanilla, musk, Kashmir wood, guaiac wood, making the balance of sweet warm notes.

New York 5th Avenue is a new fragrance by Fragrance du Bois for both men and women and it was released in 2020. This is a Spicy, Woody Oriental fragrance and was created by perfumer Shadi Samra. New York 5th Avenue is a popular, vibrant street in New York. The fragrance is dedicated to the magic of winter and the holidays in New York City.
Fragrance Category: Spicy, Woody, Oriental
- Top Notes: Bergamot, Rose
- Middle Notes: Caramel, Violet, Cyproil
- Base Notes: Vanilla, Musk, Kashmir Wood, Guaiac Wood
On the fragrance pyramid, there is Bergamot & Rose on the top, and Caramel and violet in the middle. At the base, it has musk, vanilla, Kashmir wood, and Guaiac Wood. I love the way it dries down on my skin. The dry down is absolutely stunning and so is the opening! The rose is done very delicately so it won’t smell too floral. Bergamot adds brightness to the composition while caramel in the heart adds sweetness. It dries down as the most beautiful woody musky fragrance.
There is no Oud listed in the fragrance but I do get some Oud notes in there. The Oud is beautiful, not dirty or skanky but is well balanced with sweet notes.
Performance: The performance is incredible. The fragrance projects beautifully and lasts about 10 hours on my skin.
This is such a unique unisex fragrance and is definitely worth the price. This is great for night outs for cold evenings. You may also wear it for date nights. Performance is incredible and it will get you compliments. The fragrance can also be layered with Attars from Fragrance du Bois. I layered it with Attar Areej and it smelt divine.

Fragrance Du Bois is well known for its premium quality products. New York 5th Avenue seems to bear the same hallmark. I like the fact that their products are made from natural oils and are also sustainable. The perfume range inspired by the names of the big cities of the world sound fascinating.

Hi Ashh – I always love it when a fragrance comes beautifully packaged. I have all my fragrances displayed in my room because of that. I’ve heard only great things about New York 5th Avenue and would love to try it. It is so important that a fragrance has good performance that lasts for a long time. There is nothing worse than putting on an amazing smelling fragrance and by the time you reach your destination you may as well not have bothered.

Absolutely Lynne. Every little detail does matter specially when you’re spending on a luxury fragrance. I love to display mine too but I have over 200 fragrances (sorry addiction and my work!). I keep just a few of my most used ones on top of my dresser and keep others in my drawers. I have asked my husband to build a custom Fragrance display cabinet for me. He loves DIY woodworking projects and has agreed for this one.

What an absolutely pretty pack! I love perfumes and fragrances. In fact, long long ago, I remember especially loving my cousin’s aftershave and could never figure out why I couldn’t use it as a fragrance. 🙂 We’ve come a long way now. I think I would love this fragrance category!
