It is basically the at-home version of Olaplex’s legendary Professional back bar No. 1. The treatment primes hair for absorbing hydration, rebuilds hair bonds, strengthens, and protects hair integrity.

How to use: The Intensive Bond Building Hair Treatment comes in a needle nose bottle for direct application to saturate the hair from root to tip. Leave on for 10 minutes. You may leave it for up to 45 minutes but the brand doesn’t recommend leaving it overnight as it can end up in your eyes due to its consistency. For best results, and in lockstep with the professional stand-alone treatment, Olaplex stylists recommend layering a generous amount of Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector on top of the No. 0 and rinsing the mixture after 10 minutes. The best part? You can skip the salon and use it in the comfort of your own bathroom. Plus, it only takes 20 minutes in total.
Final thoughts: My hair has been through a lot over the years. I have had chemical bonding done and I have been coloring my hair for a few years now. I also use hot tools on my hair occasionally. All this has made my dry hair even drier and brittle. Everyone recommended trying Olaplex but not sure what took me so long until now! The squeezy nozzle bottle makes the application simple and easy. My hair looked and felt much softer as well as manageable after using the treatment. I have used it a few times now and will continue using it.
