Hourglass Cosmetics has been one of my all-time favorite brands in makeup. My love affair with the brand started when I first tried their ambient light blush and since then I have been purchasing quite a lot including the limited edition palettes every single year. What I love about this brand is the products are not meant for that Instagram makeup but instead the Hourglass products will give you soft-focus real-life filter which gives a lit-from-within look.
Not only on young skin but you will notice that the brand’s products look beautiful on mature skin too! I have tested the powders on my mama for special occasions and her makeup looked absolutely beautiful on such events.
The brand has recently added a couple of new products to its bestselling Veil Collection.
Veil Soft Focus Setting Spray | £47 – This setting spray not only just sets the makeup in place but also blurs away any imperfection giving a soft-focus effect. Like other Hourglass products, expect a gorgeous radiance on the skin with this setting spray. The mist is ultra-fine and very hydrating. It is water-resistant as well so really helpful on those sweaty days. I know this setting spray is a little expensive but it is totally worth the investment!
Veil Eye Primer | £27 – This is a lightweight and ultra-long-wearing eyeshadow primer that creates a perfect base for all kinds of eyeshadow formulas. It is very silky and blends like a dream. The consistency of this primer is fab and a little goes a long way. I like that it’s a light nude shade which gives a lovely canvas. It prevents creasing on my eyelids and enhances the performance of eyeshadows in terms of wear.
Veil Mineral Primer Oil-Free Broad Spectrum SPF 15 | £53 – Hourglass used to do a Veil Primer but I don’t think that one had sun protection. I can not explain how gorgeous is the formulation of this primer. It is silky and velvety on the skin. It gives a soft matte canvas to work with. My foundation layers beautifully over this primer and stays longer too. I have texture on my skin and a soft matte finish is the best when you have textured skin. SPF 15 is a bonus!
Veil Translucent Setting Powder | £45 – This is one of the bestsellers from the brand. The Veil Translucent setting powder is finely milled and is so weightless on the skin that you just can’t detect it! The powder instantly blurs the imperfections and gives a soft-focus effect to the skin. The powder has light-reflective particles that leave a radiant finish on the skin.
Veil Powder Makeup Brush | £63 – One should not underestimate the power of good makeup tools. This multipurpose double-ended brush is perfect for setting the foundation, concealer, and color products without needing multiple brushes for the purpose. The larger rounder brush is perfect to use it across the face while the smaller tapered end is great to set the concealer in place. The bristles are incredibly soft and the brush is easy to clean.

This sounds perfect for me, I am not into that Instagram makeup look at all. I love the softer more natural look even if my wrinkles still show up lol, perhaps that Veil Soft Focus Setting Spray can help me with that 🙂
