When I saw this post on Leanne’s space, I knew I had to do it. The title is seriously a fun way of sharing your holy grails. For a makeup addict, picking just 10 products is not easy you know. Keeping the title in mind, I have tried to keep it short and listed my 10 picks which are not in any particular order.
* This is heavily a picture-centric post.
- Urban Decay One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector | £25 | Buy here
From the day I purchased this base, I haven’t stopped wearing this. One & Done (Review here) is seriously just one step in your makeup routine which makes you look done. With this, you can skip corrector and concealer as the unique pigments in this base colour corrects and makes your imperfections less noticiable. If you tend to go for lighter coverage bases, this might be an interest to you. However, my full coverage girls can skip this.
- Colourpop matte lipstick – Bumble | Buy here
I love love love the shade. Its a muted red which looks gorgeous on all skin tones. This shade makes me look put together and looks gorgeous in photos. It needs re-application after a while which is fine considering its not very pricey. I bought this (along with some more colourpop goodies) via missukbeauty’s instastore in the UK that saved me customs and international shipping. However, if you plan to order lots of products, i suggest taking risk of customs and international shipping.
- Gerard Cosmetics hydra matte – Everything Nice | £9.50 | Buy here
Like its name, everything about this lipstick is nice :). Its a long lasting formula, doesn’t dry out my lips, beautiful colour and complements many skin tones. Price wise its under a tenner which is also a plus. I totally recommend this lipstick to everyone.
- Makeup geek blush – Infatuation | £7.95 | Buy here
If you’re medium skin tone, you should definitely try this blush. Its such a stunning deep peach shade with pale chocolate undertones. This sits beautifully on skin and lasts for hours. This blush doesn’t need touchup during the day. This is a high performance cheek colour which glides exquisitely onto the skin delivering long-lasting pigmentation. Makeup geek blushes are very pigmented so you need not worry about going back and forth just to build up the colour. The texture of this blush is matte which is best for imperfection-prone skin. I try to stay away from shimmery blushes due to large pores left from teen-acne. I will do detailed post on my makeup geek blushes soon.
- Amaretto blush from Becca cosmetics x Jaclyn Hill Champagne collection face palette | $52 | Limited Edition
Amaretto (Review here) is a matte toasted almond mineral blush which looks stunning on medium skin tones. The pigmentation is amazing, texture is soft and it lasts quite long. If Becca Cosmetics decides to bring this blush back in individual pans or may be in a palette, I definitely recommend buying this.
- The Balm cosmetics Mary lou manizer | £17.50 | Buy here
Honestly Mary lou manizer was my first highlighter and it is still one of my favourites. It never fails to impress. When I need my highlighter to show up in just one swipe, this is the one to go for. It is finely milled and super pigmented. Looks beautiful on all akin tones. Texture is buttery soft and price wise it is a bargain. There has to be a reason why this product is a cult favorite among bloggers and makeup artists. Try it and you will love it!
- Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow kit | £49 | Buy here
Oh boy! this highlighter is BOMB. I haven’t come across any highlighter that is as finely milled as this and looks AH-MAZING on my skin tone. When I am not sure which highlight to go for, i pick this one. This highlighter is a sure shot glow-getter for me. This looks beautiful even on problematic skin and doesnot emphasize large pores which is a plus.
- Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara | £7.99 | Buy here
I do not think you need to spend on high end mascaras as drugstore has amazing mascaras. I particularly love Maybelline Lash sensational as it gives volume as well as length to my lashes. It also curls, separates and opens up my eyes. I have now purchased waterproof version as well. This is an amazing product to have in your vanity.
- Illamasqua Vintage Metallix – Galaxy | £17 | Buy here
Vintage Metallix eyeshadow in Galaxy -antique gold shade ( Review here ) provides a metallic cream-gel texture that provides long wear and comfort. Its a smudge resistant and long lasting formula. I sometimes apply this all over my lid with my finger for a gold eyeshadow look or use as a base for other eyeshadows to add a little oomph. I also love to use this as a gel eyeliner and it looks amazing. Its a multi purpose product for me and I love this so much. The quality is MUCH MUCH better than Maybelline colour tattoo..obviously you get what you pay for!
- Inglot freedom system eyeshadow 335 | £5 | Buy here
Its a beautiful rusty orange toned red (muted shade) and has matte finish. Looks gorgeous in the crease. I wear this eyeshadow frequently and this is the most used eyeshadow until now. The quality and pigmentation is comparable to Makeup Geek eyeshadows. This brand deserves more love and recognition. I was kindly gifted Inglot eyeshadows by my sister. You can buy these in Westfield, London or from Inglot Uk website. You can read about my other inglot eyeshadows here.
