Clean, Chic & Minimalist – these are the three words that come to my mind when I see the bottle of Loewe 001. Loewe is a Spanish fashion house which is owned by Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, commonly known as LVMH or Louis Vuitton.
This was an impulsive purchase, by the way! I was actually shopping for some perfume gift sets online and Loewe 001 caught my attention. Just from the first sight of it, I knew I had to have it in my perfume collection!
LOEWE 001 was the first perfume crafted for LOEWE by Jonathan Anderson – Leading Designer & Loewe’s Creative Director, created in collaboration with the brand’s in-house nose, Nuria Cruelles.
Loewe 001 Woman along with Loewe 001 Man were launched in August 2016. These are “deep, tender and appealing” fragrances that “reinterpret the scent of a skin caress”. Loewe 001 Woman by Loewe is an Oriental Floral fragrance with a woody character.
Packaging:
This fragrance comes in a very simple, minimal packaging that looks modern and chic. The outer box has a black and white photo of a flower. The bottle also has a simple minimal design with a wooden finish plastic lid.
Notes:
- Top notes: Italian Tangerine, Pink Pepper and Bergamot
- Middle notes: Sandalwood and Egyptian Jasmine
- Base notes: Vanilla and Amber
Loewe 001 Woman opens up with sparkling, bright citrus notes of Italian bergamot, Calabria tangerine and pink pepper. Its heart features white flowers particularly jasmine mixed with clean linen and a sensuous sandalwood accord. It is defined as the floral, fresh and warm fragrance of “the morning after”. The exclusive amber molecule “Ambar 001” is accompanied by gourmand vanilla in the base.
The floral aspect of this fragrance is very toned down and therefore this fragrance can easily be considered unisex. This is a really simple fragrance and stays close to the skin. It doesn’t project a lot but stays on skin for good few hours – about 5 hours on my skin.
This is a very elegant, oriental woody fragrance with a very high quality creamy sandalwood. The citrus aspect keeps the fragrance slightly bright and interesting. I see this as very subtle, after-shower kind of fragrance or a bedtime fragrance for me. This is also fabulous choice for people working in teaching and medical profession where you do not want loud or heavily projecting fragrances.
