June flew by way faster than I know it and the month was really busy with a visit from extended family earlier this month followed by my husband’s knee surgery. June is way too special for me and my husband as it is his birthday and our wedding anniversary month. We completed 9 years as a married couple and have been together for 16 years now. Next month would be crazily busy too as we will be visiting India after more than a year but this time it is very special visit. My Sister delivered a beautiful baby boy recently whom I will be meeting in July.
On to my faves, this is from Travel as well as Fragrance category and it is the Travel Case from Clive Christian Perfume. The elegant Travel Case features a striking abstract design inspired by Clive Christian’s signature, sealed in metallized gold and topped with the Crown Perfumery crest. I got the Gold Black option which is very chic and timeless. I have also seen the Gold and Blue version online in case you want to check out. The best part is the case fits the brand’s travel perfume bottles which you can use interchangeably. It is now easy to travel in style for those perfumed journeys!
Summer is all about embracing your natural skin and avoiding foundation as much as possible. However, we do need our concealer throughout the year to hide or conceal any imperfections. Too Faced Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer has been my go-to lately. It has build-able medium to full coverage and can be used under the eyes or around the face. The concealer formula is weightless and is crease-free. It doesn’t give flashbacks so you can use this for special occasions.
Who doesn’t love a shimmery golden goddess look in summers! Nuxe Golden Shimmer Multi-purpose Dry Oil is my absolute favourite dry oil since many years. This is a luxurious oil-based treatment that nourishes, repairs and softens, with shimmering mineral particles illuminating skin and hair with a satin-like sheen.
REN Clean Screen Mineral SPF 30 Sun cream – Sunscreen protection is required throughout the year and I follow this mantra religiously! Few months back REN skincare launched a silicone-free formula composed of naturally-derived ingredients, that offers broad-spectrum UVA/UVB and blue light defence. Formulated for daily use, it’s gentle on even the most sensitive skin types and is absorbed in a flash without leaving behind a sticky residue or ashy cast. I have been using this mattifying sun cream quite a lot recently.
Most of you would know that I colour my roots at home due to fast hair growth. I recently tried Clairol Natural Instincts Conditioning Colour which has Coconut oil and Aloe vera. The reason why I am mentioning this hair colour today is because it has 80% naturally derived ingredients and it blends away grey easily. It does last upto 28 shampoos and is suitable for sensitive scalps.
Few months ago, I was kindly sent some Radical Skincare goodies and the Express Delivery Enzyme Peel had all my attention. I have dry and sensitive skin but it can get congested as well. I do not like very strong products on my face but like the look of polished luminous skin. This is a fruity blend of Enzymes including Papaya, Lemon and Mango mixes with Vitamins and Antioxidants to produce the ultimate nourishing treatment. This gel-like peel has to be applied on dry skin and when you massage it in circular motions, it transforms from gel to fluid. It slowly starts pilling and becomes grainy on rubbing and lifts away dead cells to reveal smoother, softer, brighter skin. All you want in summer is fresh, bright and radiant skin so you can flaunt your natural skin without much makeup. I promise you will love this exfoliator!
Vichy LiftActiv Hyalu Mask is the first mask I tried from Vichy earlier this year and I am so pleased with it. The mask has a gel texture and is very nourishing. This intensely moisturising face mask is enriched with a high concentration of high and low weight Hyaluronic Acid. The mask plumps up and revives tired skin. The mask glides effortlessly on and melts comfortably in, revealing a fresh, glowing and healthy-looking complexion with enhanced suppleness and radiance. Plus the cooling effect from gel consistency is perfect for summer.
Chantecaille Lip Veil – Mandevilla is such a beautiful watermelon pink shade and the formula is incredibly moisturising. It is a baby of a lip balm and a lipstick meaning the lip veil has moisturising benefits of a balm while the pigment is as good and build-able like a lipstick. The best part is proceeds from the sale of this lip veil goes to The Elephant Family Charity –
an NGO based in India working to minimise animal/human conflict and assist in maintaining centuries-old migratory paths for elephants.
Soap & Glory – The Righteous Butter is an essential if you want to flaunt those legs without looking dry and scaly. I prefer exfoliating my legs and using the righteous butter in the end for a bit of pamper. It smells so good like you would like to eat it! The body butter has softening shea butter and aloe vera that will make your body smooth and nourished. Plus who doesn’t want a pink tub packaging on their bathroom shelf! Mine is extra special because the lovely team at S&G kindly sent me the personalized tub.
Yankee Candle’s Grilled Peaches & Vanilla Candle has been my favourite candle since past couple of months. The fresh juicy peachy aroma screams summer and fills the room with casual romantic fruity vibes. We got compliments from our friends on how gorgeous this candle smells.
Roja Parfums Elixir pour Femme Essence de Parfum– This fragrance is a magical elixir full of sensual seduction. The elixir has an Oriental Floral vibe with dominant soft, romantic and delicate rose note. The sophisticated blend of this fragrance is rich and complex. It conveys feminine vibe but is powerful at the same time. The fragrance is rich & soft at the same time. It works in any season and will be a compliment-getter for everyone (crowd-pleaser). I tend to gravitate towards this fragrance quite a lot and been using this often lately.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder has been my makeup-saver lately in this heatwave. It blurs my imperfections slightly while setting my makeup and keeping it matte. The powder is very finely milled so it is undetectable on skin while the finish is beautiful. Soft Focus Micro Powders From Nano-Particles blur away lines and imperfections, and sit like a soft micro-fine cashmere veil on top of your skin. This powder prevents excess shine and brighten complexions.
Hourglass Cosmetics Diffused Bronze Light – Hourglass is all about natural looking radiant makeup that gives you lit-from-within look. I have been using their Ambient Lighting palettes from past few years now and their bronzers are my all-round-the-year faves. Diffused Bronze Light is fairly new in my collection but it is a must-have for summer. I couldn’t stop using this one since last month. This is a cool bronze shade fused with Diffused Light, a soft, pale yellow powder, to mimic a ray of warm sunlight. Ideal for light/medium complexions.
Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer – Fenty Love is one of the few things I picked up from Fenty Beauty early this year. I must say this gloss quickly became a summer staple for that effortlessly plump luminous lips. It has shea butter in it that nourishes the lips. The gloss can be used on its own or as a finishing topper on any of your favourite lipstick.
Iconic London Illuminator – Original – Summer would be incomplete without glow and glow won’t make any sense if I do not include cult favourite Iconic London’s Illuminator. These illuminating drops are so fine and versatile that you can mix them in your foundation, primer base or moisturiser or just use them on their own for boosting glow. Every drop of this super-concentrated shimmer elixir glides on smoothly to bestow ultra-blendable glow. This illuminator is beautiful in every way!
Our feet get a lot of attention in summer due to sandals and flip flops. SVR Foot Peel is a must-have for me as my heels tend to get really dry plus I do not like to spend a lot of time in pedicures at salons. This at-home exfoliating treatment is just what I want every few months to ensure my heels are soft and there is no sight of any dry/dead skin on my feet. This resurfacing treatment completely renews the skin. Effortless to use, the sock-like foot treatment targets the rough and thickened areas of skin whilst protecting sensitive areas, sloughing away dead cells and replenishing vital moisture.
